I was wondering if there is anyone who has used or has one of those Cat Genies? The act like regular toilets. You hook them up to either the toilet or the laundru drain. They are expensive, but is better than dumping the clumping litter. I have 2 kittens and 1 cat that is alot of litter etc.. I heard about the Cat Genie and wanted to know if it works as well as they say and if the cats actually use it. It is supposed to liquify the feces and then it goes down the drain, then cleans itself/with a sanitizer. It then dries itself and new litter like material replaced. Please let me know if anyone has one or knows anything abot them.
Thanks

I checked out the Genie and about had a fit at the price. What bothers me about them is that you are hooking them up to the water line plus they are electrical in some sort of way...I would think that you need to plug them into electricity. I don't like that combination.
The other thing they tout is that the clumping litter adds so much weight to the landfill. The clumping litter is clay litter and will eventually dry out and de-clump. I have a spot that I dump the clumps and I have watched the litter through time decompose back into clay.
With it being such a new product, I decided that I will stick with my normal way of doing cat boxes. I have four cats and I got a huge box (an under the bed storage box) that I fill with a box of litter and then I scoop it daily. It works so I figure I won't change things. I don't think the cats would like the change anyhow. Besides, I can buy a lot of litter for $250+
