Hi,
I just wanted to wish all the mother's on mylot a happy and safe mother's day.
Enjoy the parties, bbq's, and family time.
Here are 2 poems I found online:
Mere Happiness Is Not the Song I'm Singing
Nicholas Gordon
Mere happiness is not the song I'm singing:
Of mothers' joy a jagged piece is pain.
To love is to be amply burdened, bringing
Hearts with gifts to an uncharted plain.
Even so, one longs to be a mother,
Remembering a richness unreserved
'Ere one could barely recognize another,
Sustained by love unsought and undeserved.
Deeper than oneself is one's communion,
A revelation reached alone by union
Yet yearned for, though through years of love well served.
I LOVE YOU MOM!
Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,
Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,
Mom's love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways...
The values you've taught,
the care you've given,
and the wonderful love you've shown,
have enriched my life
in more ways than I can count.
I Love you Mom!

Happy mother's day to everyone on here also.. This is my second Mothers day without my mother and my third without my mother-in-law, so it is very sad for hubby and myself.. Take care of and love your mothers as they are not going to be here forever..

Wanting to wish you all a great mothers day!! also... I need to get working on my mothers day gift for my mom... ugh.. I forgot...
I haven't had a mom to give to in years... and when I found my birthmom two years ago... well... it is hard after so many years to remember those things...
Thanks for reminding all of us...
Have a great mothers day!

Hi Icy-that is a lovely poem and so true-all of us mothers have that unconditional love for our children and support them in everything through thickness and thin-also through the joyous times and the pain.
I love the poem thanks for sharing that one-your friend littleowl

Yeah, I tell my mom that every time I talk to her (twice a week) that I LOVE YOU MUM. She is wonderful and I think all (well most) mothers are great, something to cherish and adore because they have unconditioned love where their children are concerned.
Thanks for sharing this with us Icy and glad to see you back, I've missed you these last couple of days!

Happy Mothers day to you too Icy!
here's a poem for you..
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
