It is absolutely wrong. In fact USA wat not started war in Iraq. They are testing their new weapon and thrown their outdated weapons on the sand of Iraq and took money from other Middle Eastern Country. President Bush said that Saddam Hossain owned chemical weapon etc. but in fact no such weapon was found there. So USA did all in Iraq by a false statement to Harras people and to earn money. To harras Iraqi people on the plea of war USA took help from UK and other country otherwise if USA alone started fighting with Iraq they would not success and so they used the technique to include United Nations. A weak person take help from others, but a strong and brave do it alone!! USA did not fight in Iraq alone because they are weak to do this injustice and wrong work. I love USA, so I like to see USA a humanitarian nation, a brave and a strong to fight with one single stong country - not with a weak and armless country what they are doing now.

Do you believe that the US is fighting against Iraq? I believe the reason for us going over there was to liberate a country from the rule of a ruthless dictator and to try to put a stop to terrorism. After all, today Iraq is closer to democracy than it ever has been. Just my opinion.

Phenomenon - I don't watch Fox news. To answer your question about why we're not in those 20 or 30 other countries right now, it's simple, our military isn't large enough to be everywhere all at once. We've helped many other countries. If it's oil we're in Iraq for then why is it that the price of our gasoline is still so obscenely high? We drill for oil here in our own country and buy it from other sources around the world. I'm not naive, and I've done my research. I don't believe everything the media tells me. However, I do believe that the people in Iraq have many more freedoms now than they had before.

...unbelievable that there is actually ppl believing that....if the US wants to liberate ppl from ruthless dictators then why are they not in Sudan right now? and if you check whats going on in the world...why arte they not in 20-30 other countries where there are ruthless dictators right now? One simple answer... no oil in those countries...
Do not believe everything your government tells you...no excuse for being naive anymore...you have internet...get all the info and then tell me you can come to the same conclusion that america is only trying to help the poor opressed iraqi ppl...ps stop watching foxnews.. ;P

Well it's my opinion that liberating the people of Iraq from the tyrranous rule of Saddam is worth the price. I don't believe it's for oil, otherwise we'd be in much better shape than we are right now when it comes to paying the price for gasoline.

This war has been the one with the least casualties of all time, so the heavy price we're paying is with our defecit only. Trish you're very well spoken, I like you am a little dissappointed in the amount of time we've been there, but it's not as if we, like other countries, will go in and eradicate terrorism tearing a country up and leave it, no we replace what is destroyed during wartime which is one of the reasons we are still there, and a bad strategy as you've said. We can't just up and quit now, they aren't free of those radicalist terrorists yet.
I remember many countries who were glad for our assistance when they needed it yet turn their backs when we need them, so I think Phenomenon is reading the wrong part of his books.

Its funny that ppl apparently don´t want to see that the entire situation is creating anti US sentiment and whith this more radicals that will commit acts of terror...
Fighting violence with more violence only leads to more violence...you cannot break through a cycle like this with military power.

You don't believe that the Iraqi people have more freedoms now than they had when Saddam was in power? What about the women who got to vote, or the fact that people actually had the opportunity to vote for their own government? That's not winning, even in a minor way?

i find it interesting how many people find the war *wrong* ~
i stand fully 100% behind our troops and the war on terror ~ which is what the war in iraq is a part of .. the big war on terrorists everywhere.
i think to many people have forgotten about 9-11 and what the terrorist did to our country!
if you are against the war and think its wrong, what do you think we should have done? hug'd the terrorist after they commited the terrorist attack on us... or maybe just looked the other way??
ooh i know i know now folks are going to say *oh but that wasnt about iraq that was about bin laden* well folks we are still looking for him. the big war is the war on terrorist which includes any and all terrorist countries Iraq included.
do you think its right that these people (terrorist) are taught that unless you believe the way they do than you should be killed? you might not agree with the war but the war on terror is to protect you, your children, your childrens children etc etc etc.

Very well said! I think it's a shame that people think that the war on terror is only about terrorists who've attacked us. This war is being fought against all terrorists, no matter which country they choose to attack, whether it's their own (like Saddam did to his own people).

Do you think that all terrorist should be brought to justice?
If yes did you know that modern terrorism as we know it is created by the Israelis?
We like to forget that fact and its rarely ever mentioned but the fact we in the west so openly supported this only 40 years ago is the reason we´re stuck with this problem now!
Not to mention that most of the terrorist we´re fighting now have training that can be led back to the US, who if i´m not mistaken trained the taliban to fight the russians....

I believe that it is necessary. Many people don't agree with it but they sure don't mind having the right to believe that way. My husband is in the AF and while I hate it when he is gone overseas, it gives me a sense of pride to know that he is selfless and will put others freedom in front of his safety. I see protesters outside our base all the time but they are protesting the very thing that gives them the freedom to do so. Agree with me or not...but open your eyes and see that these people aren't drafted anymore they signed up! So if you don't want to fight for your freedom don't join the military. I don't condemn your occupation so since I am not recruiting you, don't condemn mine.

I believe we needed to get Saddam out of Iraq. But I think we were sent under false pretenses. I think we needed to get him out because of his human rights violations, not because of "suspected weapons of mass destruction". Granted, I think he should have been taken out after the gulf war instead of waiting this long.
