Robots in warfare

What are your thoughts on using robots instead of human soldiers in war? Personally, I think that when you remove the human element from fighting, then war will never end. A war is ended when one country admits defeat and loses too many young men and women. Replacing people with robots would only cause wars to last that much longer.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to use them to attack other people's land and such. But as for fighting against each other, you are so right. It would be a total waste. Seems like there is always some kind of war going on. It's actually kind of sad.

I do have to add though that I believe that for removing roadside bombs robots are definitely usable. If its a firefight that is one thing, and even that is hard to argue, but when there is a chance that you could have saved someone by using a robot, its definitely the robot getting blown to pieces before our soldiers.

No matter what, you will always have human control. So two armies of robots fighting each other wouldn't last forever. Basically the first one that took out the control center would win. Thus I don't think we have to worry about total robot wars. I do think they are a great idea to sniff out IEDs etc, where human life may be at stake.
