As a friend it is not necessary to go and party every time your friend calls. There needs to be guidelines set if you are wanting to complete your schooling and eventually become successful in life. There is nothing wrong with partying and going to college, but you cannot allow partying to outweight your studies. Partying can be done at any time, but schooling is more a less a once in a lifetime opportunity. There are many who cannot afford to go to college and have to work really hard to pay for their courses. I don't know your friend's place, in regards to his schooling finances, but studying will definitely pay off more than partying. And just think about it, once you are successful, have a steady and stable career, with great salaries and benefits, partying is going to be done regardless, and you'll have more time to do so without worrying about passing an important exam that will determine if you pass or fail a semester. Stick with the books and just squeeze in partying here and there. Real friends will respect and understand your decision. Good luck.

If you want to make it through college and be successful, you need to forget about the partying. Your friends should understand when you turn down their party to study...If not, they are not true friends. College takes a lot of hard work (and usually a lot of money), so if you think you can choose partying over studying and doing your homework, you are sadly mistaken. I would, however, allow a couple days a month to go party. It's good to go out and have fun...just don't do it more than going to class and studying!
