Do you like to buy your bananas green out of the store?

I usually like to buy only a few bananas at a time that I know will get eaten - and I like to buy them yellow. IF it is, however, a really great price I will purchase some yellow for right away and some green for later.
the best way I have found for ripening bananas is to place them in a brown bag, especially if there is another fruit in there with it.

I try to buy organic produce as much as possible and since the bananas are usually cheap, I get those. I've found that organic bananas tend to be greener and stay green. I think they are not sprayed with a chemical that makes them ripen faster like regular bananas. If I am buying regular ones, I get green ones because I can never finish them fast enough if they are already yellow. Plus I like to eat the green ones :P They are tarter.

Hello dear cream. I love to eat bananas. Usually I love to buy bananas when it is not over-ripe, just ripe for me to eat. I won't buy green ones. I buy about six bananas that I can consume in a shorter time with about five days so that there is no chance for the bananas to go over-ripe. Thanks.

I have learnedto do that also so that when they start
to turn yellow I can eat them. Ilike them just as they
turn but hate them when they get mushy inside. the just
barely ripe ones have less sugar and are more
glucose friendly than the dark yellow ones. hence they
are better for diabetic to eat. They start to ripen
quickly on top of my fridge.

I buy them green. They ripen quickly in my house. There are times I'll buy them slightly green, if I want a banana soon.
