Before, I let them, I even watched it. But there's this one time, I was doing my household chores, I left them watching wrestling on cable, then I heard banging...I rushed to our room and I found my kids, imitating what the wrestlers are doing. I told myself, what's this? Since then, wrestling shows are banned in my household. I think that they just promote violence. I find it entertaining but their kind of entertainment is not a good influence specially to kids. How about you? What's your opinion about this? Everyone's welcome to share...

I'm sure if my kids will get the chance to watch wrestling, especially my two little boy, they would imitate it also. At least they dont have the chance because we dont have cable connection at home.
If you will ask me, and if I could control it, I wont let them watch wrestling, especially the type wherein you will really see how brutal the fight is.

Just guide your children when watching it... also, tell them it's fake and that they can't get injured, but they can, that can seem to work well...

Umm... Grammar Mistake,
"The superstars can't get injured since it's fake, but you can"
Yeah... that's better. LOL

I think if kids are taught right from wrong and know to leave what's seen on TV there wouldn't be a major deal. It comes down to being there with them and it's no different than you see games and such. I've watched wrestling as a kid and I was raised to know what's right and what's wrong. To answer your question, I might if I want to watch but at the same time would teach them that what you see on TV stays on TV. I just have to make sure that I'm doing my part and if I don't like what I see, I just won't watch it and wouldn't let them watch.

i myself was a wrestling fanatic before. but when i saw the show, the one that exposed the scenes on wrestling, i already lost my delight watching that kind of sports. but now, i just let my kids watch wrestling, anyway they already know about the exposé.

I'm not a mom but my brothers and I used to watch wrestling a lot. When I got older, I realized that it was all a fake, a real entertainment type of show. I lost interest since then haha. But my brothers do wrestle with one another and with me once in a while. We never got into serious fights though which is good, but if your kids are getting into it seriously then I agree with your decision to ban the show from your household. You don't gain anything anyway from watching wrestling, might as well watch sports instead.

We do love wrestling much. The good thing we have here is , we have watch all together, since wrestling here is at night, so I was in our house already.
We keep on guiding our kids to avoid doing such tricks at home. They act in the air what they have seen, but I was glad that there is not banging happen in our house. Just guided them accordingly.Nice discussion thread.

My son had an encounter with one of the WWF wrestler's in person when he was about 6. The attitude of that person turned him off entirely to the whole wrestling concept.
I would not have allowed it any way, it is pure trash.

When I was a kid, my father loved watching wrestling and we used to watch it with him. In those days, wrestling was quite different than today that moves and stunts are more violent. I dont let my kid also watch wrestling but he was free to watch anything in cable. Good thing was that it never interested him to watch wrestling.
