At one time

Again, not an original idea of mine but here goes. At one time, i was so bored that i sat on a shopping mall's bench watching people walking by. That is what i used to do when i was young with plenty of time in my hand. Looking back it wasn't such a bad thing and it certainly is more exciting than looking at my computers and spreadsheets now. One person said he sat at the bus stop watching the traffic goes by. And it was raining then. He went home after the rain stopped and felt not so bored after that. Hmm, maybe it is really therapeutic watching cars went by in the rain. Could not sleep at night? Started counting sheep but doesn't seem to work because it makes you feel hungry for lamb chops? Felt really bored after that. You could try counting alphabets backwards-zyxwvu... Could someone make any money from it doing it for real, in a reality show perhaps? You can fill in the blanks now. At one time, i was so bored that i ... Now, excuse me while i go watch the time elapse display on my CD player while it's playing. It comes in handy when i want to play certain parts of music which i like, don't you think? Or maybe not!

Hi joshua_w! At one time, I was so bored that I just went out and rode a bus without knowing where it is heading. I got off after it passed the freeway/expressway and then I rode another one heading back home. When i reached home, I was not bored anymore. The green sceneries I have seen in the freeway refreshed my mind somehow. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

Hey Faith, riding on a bus to nowhere? Sounds good to me. Is is not just like life, where life is a just a journey. I used to like bus ride when i was very young too. Always argue with my brother over who gets to sit near the window. Those were the good old days, haha. I miss those days. Sigh! You take care too.

Now that is bored! But Joshua, I have to admit something here and many people will think I am quite strange for saying it, but I do not think I have ever really been bored. Not really! When 20-something I bought a fabric patch to put on some clothing that read "bored of education" because it was a neat pun "Board vs Bored" and that is the sort of thing college students used to like--back in the days when they ate gold fish or had contests of how many freshmen could fit inside a telephone booth. Hah! Now they don't even have telephone booths anymore. Well, I never got that bored. There is always something useful to, though. Out in the farm country the elders had a saying "The devil lies in idle hands!" I was about 6 when Dad gave me my first pocket knife and taught me how to whittle. That was cool. If I ever had time to sit around and do nothing, I would carve something out of wood. Something useful, yet ornamental.

Haha, someone who never knows boredom (no pun intended). But eating goldfish? Live ones you mean? Hmm, that is strange. Why would anyone want to do that? Well, not everyone is as gifted as you with their hands. Practical and yet beautiful to look at is not something that's easy to make. I have heard of "Idle minds are a devil's workshop" but not "Devil lies in idle hands". Are they the referring to the same analogy?

At present, I rarely get bored because I've got a lot to do not only here in the office but at home as well mainly because I'm already married and I'm not only concerned with myself anymore. But before, particularly when I was still unattached, there were a lot of times when I get bored at home. And during these times, I indulge to writing short novels, letters, and poems, reading books, magazines, Archie comics, surfing the internet, crocheting, watching tv shows particularly those I've missed because of hectic work schedules, stuff or hobbies like these. If myLot had been already active then, I guess it would take a lot of my spare time because not only do I enjoy responding to discussions but it somehow educates me, too. But anyway, just to keep the chain unbroken and going, I'd also like to share my crazy antics I've done during college when I and one of my friends got bored. Our classes extended only until about two in the afternoon. My female friend and I did our usual routine, checking ourselves in the washroom's mirror and afterwards rushing to the gate. But after a bit of coaching, we both decided to have a stroll in the mall. We both felt bored that day so even if the sun wasn't shining and it was drizzling then, we still proceeded with our plan. With some savings, we splurged on food and games arcade in the mall. When we have spent almost three hours there, we did some window shopping. Then another hour passed and that's when we both finally decided to head home. By the way, we aren't neighbors, she lives ten to fifteen kilometers from me.
