Do you have squillions of books? Do you red your books once then throw them away? I don't read very often but when I do fnish a book, I just can't bare to throw it away. I know I would benefit more if I partake in some book swapping or recylcing program but i just can't get rid of them! Currently I have books sitting on the hutch in my loungeroom. They're stacked neatly but I can only fit so many on. So how many books do you own and how do you keep the numbers under control?

Hello there. I have a collection of books or novels. I have a inpirational books like chicken soup for the soul and other pocketbooks that I bought from the bookstore then just keep it. From time to time, I always check them out. Winkz

It is nice to reread them once in a while. Sometimes I when I read a book again, I find something in it I didn't think about the first time.

We have a TON of books (possibly quite literally!). We have a bunch of gaming books, most of which we will probably never open again (old systems, or just not interested). We have a bunch of graphic novels. And we have a weird hodge podge collection of other novels, most of which I've bought second hand or received as gifts. I don't know how many we have, but I know we have two 7 foot tall bookshelves that are both nearly full. I weed through them every so often and either sell or trade the ones I don't want anymore.

I have a lot of books and I absolutely loose control whenever I go to a bookstore. I read books often and I love to look forward to reading (so that's why I buy books so they could "wait" for me). I don't give them away or throw them away after I am done with the books. I would just put them on my bookshelf and I feel proud of how many books I have.

I do, I have squillions of books :-) I have books that I've not read yet in boxes in one caravan, books I'm about to read on a shelf in the house (there's not much space otherwise I'd have all of them), and books that I've already read in the other caravan awaiting new homes. That's all fiction. I also have all the non-fiction on shelves in the house, as I need to look at them occassionally. My book colelction is far far smaller than it used to be as I've moved and had to cull it seriously. I don't tend ot read a fiction book twice though, so once I've read it I find a new home for it. I'm a member of bookcrossing.com, which is an excellent way of sharing your reading material, but I'm not so active now that I live in the sticks than I used to be.

My books are most precious to me - especially my collections. Whatever I buy at book sales or stores, I will read and then keep whatever I want. The rest, I will send to the Salvation Army or some other charity org. My collection is growing, and I've began to clear some cupboards to hoard them. There are more books that I've not read - actually buying at a faster rate than reading.

I have lots of books. Some of those books I really don't read anymore and are just taking up space. I've taken up selling books on Amazon.com. I've already sold two. One I have to ship on Monday but I'm getting cash for my books and I'm reducing the clutter. If I don't read them, there's no use to keep them around, and if I can make a few dollars off of them, I see nothing wrong with selling the ones I no longer want.

Over my lifetime I have collected thousands of books, and that is not an exaggeration. I had bookshelves full of them, double stacked. Finally I had to do something with them. I donated a lot of them, gave some to my sister, gave some to friends, and I did keep quite a few for myself. I have rarely thrown a book away. The couple times I did was because the book so disgusted me that I didn't want to inflict it to anyone else in the world. : )

I used to own over 300 books before our last housefire. So I only have a handful that I've read and am keeping so far since then. I have a couple stacks waiting to be read in my room by the lamp too. But I mostly sell them. We go to a flea market every year, camp out in our lot, and we make decent money mostly just selling books. Most of the books I decide I don't want to keep (I only keep favorites that I could re-read and read again) either go on paperbacbookswap.com or in the containers for the flea market. I read alot, as well, heh. I always feel like something's missing in life, if I don't have something to read.

Are you kidding? We keep them all. They litter up the house. Books in cardboard boxes. Books on shelves. Books on the floor. Books chewed up by my 2 year old son. I love my books, they are a reflection of myself. My wife can read a book a day if she wanted to, and she has an awesome memory. She doesn't read them again ever. She doesn't get rid of them either. My mom gives us all her old books. We've joked about starting a store for them. You want something to do with them? If you're lucky you can find a used bookstore near to your home. They may trade you your books with credit towards your purchases from them. This would be a great way to get, TA DA, more books. Which is what you really want anyways right?

Wow! I'm not the only one! I just can't seem to part with books. I have well over 5,000, all but the small stack on the coffee table happily read. The second floor of my house is floor-to-ceiling, wall=to-wall books, and there are overstuffed bookshelves in every room. Obviously, this has gotten totally out of control. I had to take large pay-cut recently, so I really shouldn't be buying books. In fact, I should be selling them. I just can't seem to get off this merry-go-round! I even share books with friends, which I return to them, so there are actually some "ghost" books here, too. The county just built a new library directly across the street, so maybe when it opens I can use theirs and stop adding to my overcrowded collection.

I love to read. I have tons of books, and I don't throw them away, because I might want to go back and read it again, which I do most of the time. I like to have a little library anyway :D

My mom and I never part with books either. I have tons at my house and more at my mom's that I couldn't find room for in my townhouse when I got married. My mom has like fifty gazillion books from childhood on up. My hubby and I are building a house and I plan on having lots of storage for my books. I just can't give them away either. I dunno. It's like I just can't part with my books, but I honestly do go back and reread books. It might be awhile before I get back to them, but I will eventually!

I have a bookcase for all of my books, it has so many books packed onto it that it is sagging under all the weight. I am now in the process of re reading them all and getting rid of the ones that I do not really want to keep because I just cannot keep them all. I do have sets of books from the same author though that I would never possibly get rid of!!

I have so many it's untrue! When ever I read a book that I like a lot and I've not read one from that author before I will go out and buy all the other books that author has written! So currently I would say I have about 150+ books on my shelves. I too cannot part with them as I always love re reading a book that I've not read in so long I've forgotten what happens and can readi all over again!!
