I remember I read a discussion before. It's about if it's fair to get the whole discussion deleted because of one respond violating the guidelines. It said some discussions get deleted here in myLot just because of one inappropriate response.I think it's unfair too. But the truth is our discussions don't get deleted just because one inappropriate response.I found it out just now.Someone left a inappropriate response to one of my discussions 3 days ago,I just found it was deleted ,but my discussion still exists. Not only me,that man also left the similar response to another person's discussion ,that discussion still exists, only the response is deleted. Maybe myLot has changed the rules or something.I think it's good anyway.

Well, I know when it comes to having a discussion removed from here, a lot of it is they remove discussions more that are against the TOS, or the ones they find offensive to someone. The thing is, not every discussion people ever report, and people they ever report will get removed, as their is too much for them to always check on. All I can say really, is when starting a New discussion try and keep off of items that might get deleted, and just post things that are on your heart, and you know others are interested in talking about. It may not always bring you the best, but it might help you feel better about it all in the end. Wishing you the best.

I wasn't aware that a whole discussion was deleted for one response in the past. It's good that it's not done that way anymore. I don't think a whole discussion should be deleted just because of one response, but that's just my opinion.

I don't know who told you the whole discussion gets deleted only the offending comment gets deleted. I thought you know that.

That was the case before... months ago... there were discussion that were deleted because of one or two responses that violated the mylot guidelines... but i think the mylot admin changed their policy... since it is quite unfair to delete the whole discussion because of one or two response...

Hi, Some of my discussions are also deleted because of inappropriate responds in my discussions. It is not fair and I have to restart my discussions again. Since myLot has changed the rules, then it would be great. Thanks for sharing. :-)

I didn't realize that entire discussions used to be deleted for one or two bad responses! I guess since I don't usually start my own discussions and just respond to others', I didn't notice it. I'm glad that they have started only deleting the bad responses though. That is definitely a lot more fair to whoever started the discussion and also to the others who left good responses to it.

That's fair. The one who is not following the guideline should be punished. Mylot is also now returning payment for responder on deleted discussion, which is also fair. It is not punishing it's member who unknowingly response to a discussion which have some violations. Mylot takes care of it's member now and that's what a good paysite should be.

No. Mylot will only delete the offensive response and retain the original discussion. That has always been the case. I think if the whole discussion is deleted, the reason would be that the discussion is causing others attacking each others or another words flaming others and it is a violation of mylot guidelines.

Thanks for figuring this one out for us! It can be tough to figure out. At yahoo answers, your question may get deleted as soon as one person hits the "report" button!

Dun think the responds will get deleted too.. I once tried to submit my respond, and i happen to have a word inside my respond that volate the TOS.. ANd mylot immediatelt alerted me that i can use that word, and so i change it immediately and i can post it.. hehe.. SO i guess it really depends to wat extend u violate the TOS of mylot, only than the responds and discussions will get deleted..

Its good to know that the respondee is the only one that gets deleted now-the discussions are important to find out what other people think or any advice they have to give-littleowl

I would have to agree why should our discussions that are perfectly fine get deleted just because of someone leaving a bad inappproiate response I was wondering about that. It's good to know that the discussion doesn't get deleted just the response does. I know I have never had any of my discussions I've started deleted for none of them were breaking MyLot's rules. I don't believe any of the responses I have gotten back have been deleted either for I have so far had all positive responses. I try to be open and honest when responding to a discussion leaving good feedback. I see it as if you see a discussion that you know you want to respond to and are knowing you are going to make a negitive response don't respond to that particular discussion and mmove on to another discussion.

yes, this change is really a good thing.sometimes our discussions may include some subjective opinions that hurt somebody. They may be testy and impolite.and their response may be inappropriate.

Thanks for posting this. I always wondered why the discussion had to pay the penelty for one response being not appropriate. I think that is the way it should be done and as you say it looks like mylot has changed the rules and this change is for the definite better. There have been changes made by mylot that I know have been suggested by the members and this is one question that has come up on more than one occasion.

I agree, it would seem unfair for a whole discussion to be deleted because of one such response. Though I haven't ran across such a thing yet, it is good information to know.
