I had reported before that Oprah says that there is more than one way to God than Jesus. I found an update on this on Youtube while watching another preacher. It is as sad as it is shocking. She is using her influence to lead a lot of people astray. The weird part about it is that if I did not hear her say this with my own ears and see her with my own eyes, I would never believe it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW4LLwkgmqA&feature=related

hi. how are you today? i saw it from a link from a friend who sent it it to me. before that i heard her talking about this book she was talking about. i wanted to see what is all the hype is about. i found out about it when i saw the link. i was in disbelief about what i saw. i would have never of thought she would be doing that of all people. she was raised a baptist. she knows the real truth about God. she is being real stupid. she is denying God and his word to be not true. i have notice there were people who are already Christians, who are buying into the garbage. there are people who don't know the lord, and they are listening to it too. People like Oprah who do what she is doing now. they are a coward soldiers. They fail to realize that since they are denying God in front of man. jesus will deny them in front of God his father in heaven.

You said it just right. She is denying God and God will deny her. She has sold her sould for fame and fortune. I knew a Christian Counselor who got highly upset with me when I told her that I did not care for Oprah Winfrey. That was long before I even had a computer. I could feel in my spirit that something about her was not right.

I think she is entitled to her own views and one way of looking at this is to remember the book of Revelations and the emergence of false prophets. I'm not saying that Oprah is one of them; what I am saying is that all this happens for a reason, reasons that we may not understand at all. God has a hand in this, that I really believe. Sometimes it can take another faith to bring someone closer to God. I really want to believe that if it takes a few different faiths to bring someone to God, God wouldn't care how that person made the trip to Him but that that person finally came home... Also, a simple act of Oprah saying those words can snowball into many scenarios that we cannot simply imagine - sharing the gospel with a stranger, talking about the gospel on a forum, feeling more strongly about our faith...etc... Don't think of it as sad or shocking - think of it as part of God's plan and pray about your feelings, your doubts and worries.

I do not have doubts or worries. I just hope that Oprah and the people following her find out the truth, before it is too late.

Sorry if I read your post wrongly because it sounded like you were worried that people would go astray after listening to Oprah. Whatever you feel, whatever you think, whatever you hope, commit them all to prayer and God. That's definitely one thing you can do for everyone, including Oprah herself.

I used to adore Oprah. I watched her from day one. I was a new Christian then. As I have grown as a Christian, I have grown to lose a lot of respect for Oprah. I guess I expected to see her grow as a stronger Christian also. Or, I think I just thought she didn't bring Christianity in her show much because she didn't want to impose her views on her audience. Now, I'm left with very little respect for her because of this "church" of hers.

I use to believe the same thing. I thought that she was just being neutral about the whole thing. I wanted her to stand up for Christ. I figured with her having a national platform and so many adoring fans, she could at some point be honest about her religion. I was disappointed in her, because she never did that. But then to find out that she had totally turned against what she had been raised on was shocking. The Bible says, Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. I wonder what it will take to get Oprah to turn back to the true and living God. She make have to lose all that she has. Some people have to lose their health and a whole lot more.

Well they are also saying she is the anti-christ and what not, because of her recent online class with Eckard Tolle and his book The Awakening. I read a few chapters in the middle and listened to his classes online and have taken bits and pieces of what I think makes sense to me, just like any other non-fiction book I read. I really couldn't care less what she believes in because it's her thoughts only and not mine. I know where I am in my walk and know it's far from what it should really be, and no-one is going to influence the way I think and feel because of what they say and believe in.

Your right there, God does call us in our own time and I hope that I'm ready before he comes.

Actually, I believe that God calls us in his own time and I believe that as long as we remain faithful to his will, we are exactly where we should be in him. The reason why I started this post was not to down Oprah. It was simply to let the people know who would want to know what Oprah truly believes.

I personally believe in God and all but let's face it, folks are caught up in seeking. I believe she is seeking like anyone else. From what I can see, this latest book by Eckhart Tolle is the thing she's pushing. I was curious about the book but somehow from purusing it, it seems sort of confusing to me. Everyone here has different beliefs, and Roz was telling what she felt. I feel like this and I believe this. If you want to know if something is for real or not, then as the Bible say, "test the spirits" to see if it's for real or not.

It is very frightening to me. So many people look up to Oprah and feel that her word is law. Oprah was raised in the church, so one day she may turn back to the true and living God. But what about all those who have been led astray by her teaching falsely. This situation reminds me of the scripture in Jeremaih 17. It says, Cursed is man who trust in man and makes flesh his arm. People have to stop looking around for the truth and look up. They are looking to non-perfect people, to explain a perfect God. It's just not possible.

Roz, You make a good point as folks looking to non perfect people for a perfect existence, and someone already had caught a case behind it. I feel God is love, and I was taught He was a god of order and not confusion. I really feel in my heart of hearts that seeking the way is good. Finding it IS NOT hard folks. That's what the Lord encourages. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and ALL these things will be added unto you" I have seen folks here expressing their feelings and I didn't necessarily agree, but I respect the fact that they can come here and say so. Sadly, religion is a subject that brings out the worse in us for whatever reason that may be. I saw that video link you gave out, and from what I can tell, Oprah believes in the premise that there IS a God, but that Jesus wasn't the ONLY way to him which to me is misleading. Hold your head up. Peace.

Put your trust in no man! People need to be following Christ & not Oprah. Oprah uses the principles of giving and that is why she is so blessed. Does that mean she will make it into Heaven? I dare not say.

Hi Rozie, you sure opened a can of worms with this one. I am a Christian, you already know that. I "believe" and "feel" my faith. When you have both is when you know your answer. I believe in Jesus, but I also feel him too. We are taught to believe, we can't be taught to feel, thats how I know my way is the right way for me. I can't tell anyone else how to feel, they have to reach inside themselves for that. I know how you believe and feel, it comes thru on your discussions and responses.

I really saddens and angers me to see so many people being led astray. I think that people deserve to know the truth. I do not have anything personal against Oprah Winfrey. But I do not believe in what she is teaching and/or promoting. She comes across like a false profit to me. It is rather frightening. Especially, since so many people seem to worship her.

I have to agree with Oprah on this. I believe that religions are just different roads to the same place. What matters is how you live you life, not what you believe. What matters is that you are a good person, who helps out others when they are in need. I have my own thoughts and beliefs on this myself, but I will keep my opinions to myself, because if I don't the mylot stalkers will start stalking me again. But think about it, there are many different religions, and many of them are older than Christianity, so why couldn't there be more than one way to God? Religion will always be to me different road to the same place, the other side, where hurt and pain are replaced with happiness and joy.

Oprah is a freethinker one with a brain that can think for herself. Believers of unexplained stupidness should wake up and realize that they are only following a fad.

Hi Rozie, please don't get mad with me, but tell me do you really think God need stupid people around him ? Where do the atheists go ? You promised me that they are not in hell. This is getting confusing.

I would much rather be stupid and go to Heaven, than to be smart and go to Hell. One thing that I can promise you, there is not one single Atheist in Hell. And just because a few people decide to doubt something, that does not change facts.

Well, it doesn't surprise me, really. Celebrities do this kind of stuff all the time. They use their "power" to gain more "power - be it good or bad. Although it doesn't surprise me, it does make me very sad. People are very easily influenced by celebrities.

You are right, it is very sad. I hope that she and all of her followers get a hold on the truth before it is too late. I just feel that because she has all this fame and fortune and is not serving God the way the Bible instructs, I don't know, it just seems like a waste to me. Without God, we are nothing. And we can not have God unless we believe in what Jesus did to save us.

I tend to think this is a rather appropriate stance for someone like Oprah to take given the size and diversity of her audience. If she were to say there is only one way to God she'd be alienating and offending millions of her fans who are of different religious faiths. I didn't watch the video and I don't watch Oprah's show very often at all but from what I've read here that's my opinion. I don't think many people depend on Oprah or any other TV host for their religious teachings so I don't think she's done any harm to anyone. None of us really know who is right or who is wrong in these matters but we all have the right to state our opinions and it just so happens that Oprah's the one with the show and the millions of faithful viewers but I doubt if her words changed anyone's mind one way or another about religion. You would be quite surprised if you saw the video then. I have seen Oprah's influence on even Christians. I told one Christian friend about this video and she has not spoken to me since. She never misses that show. It's funny that you should mention her losing her audience. The Bible asks, What would it profit a man to gain this whole world and lose is own soul. What would a man give in exchange for his own soul. It's even worse for you if you deny Jesus and you know better. You will never hear a real Christian say none of us know who is right or wrong. God has proven himself real to us so many times. In fact, he says that if we deny him before people, he will deny us before God and the angels in Heaven. To me, I see that as him daring us to pretend like we do not believe, after all he's done to prove himself.

I have to agree, with all the religions out there, who knows who is right. I'm Catholic and I believe in Jesus. But I'm not that stupid to think we are the only ones that are correct. I think alot of people see their religions as the correct one. Which one of us is correct and which one of us is wrong....we will never know.

I guess that this is the difference between me and a lot of people. I do not have blind faith. I know for a fact that what I believe is the truth. God has proven himself to me over and over again. You could not pay me enough to believe anything else. Because unlike some people, my sould is not for sale.
