When I had a connection that was constantly on and connected to the internet I had Zone Alarm, now I just do a surface scan and use the add-on features of the FireFox browser to protect my computer.

Yes I do use firewell. Its help me to block attacker or site that potentialy will harmful my pc. I'd set my pc to high security. I do so because there are few people use my pc and I dont know what they surf or download. I know they like to download many stuff on net, thats why I set the firewell to high security. I felt safe and glad to share my pc to others without worry. I ever set my firewell to low security and I found theres alot of program that managed to installed themself or automatically without knowledge. Luckily I realised its and unistalled its immidiately.

Firewall is my first line of defense, I use the free ware PCtools Firewall with bundled ThreatFire. I have setup my firewall to prompt me for my permission any incoming and outgoing communication except for those that I really know of and trusted. Threatfire is my proactive threat detector in case my antivirus encounter an unknown virus and it somehow manipulate of alter my system files Threatfire will notify me for my permission.
