I am fair complexion but I have this kind of skin problem. I have white discoloration on my body formed round, it's everywhere on my stomach and on my back but my legs and arms are ok. When I drink alcohol the white spot are getting more visible. I went to the dermatologist once and he said that I need to expose the affected area to the sun every morning, I did it few times but nothing happen or maybe what I did was not enough. I have no place to that and I hardly find time of going out just to do that. Nothing wrong on the outer skin but I guess something wrong inside. I cannot wear two piece because of this. I feel uncomfortable... I want to get rid of this. I've been seeking for an answer for years... Please help me. any dermatologist here or someone who has idea about this?

It sounds like you might have vitilaigo. But, your dermatologist would have told you if that's the case. Basically, it's loss of pigmentation in your skin. Michael Jackson claims that he has that. It often occurs in patches all over the body. I don't know if there's much you can do about it, but I would see another doctor. I think there's creams and the like that can help cover it up or increase the melanin.
But, if it only occurs on the areas that areas of the skin that don't get exposed to the sun regularly, then it's probably OK, and you just need to get it tanned.
I have small amounts of vitilaigo on my arms and there's nothing I can do about it. Also, make sure you don't get too much sun on the affected area as it will burn easier than the "normal" area.

oh...this is the first time i have heard of it. have you had blood testS? do you feel fine? well, if it is just skin deep, then there is nothing to worry about. just leave it at that. well, then just wear one piece suits. you should not worry too much about it. live life and find out how interesting it is.
good day1 :-)

Thanks for the comment. I am really worried because I started have this when I was 17 and now that I'm 30 it's still there. It was not not obvious before but now it's getting more visible and spreading on my body

this answer is coming from MALTA. my daughtewr in-law has the same problem on her arms and now on her legs.she went to a local dermatologist and recommended her to a skin clinic to help her they be removed by LASER.she has to attend twice a week.she iss waiting for an appointment as it is a government clinic. i think it is some new technique because i have always been told that there is no cure for them. if you would like to e-mail me do so on the following e-mail address. if you do i will keep you informed about the result.hopefully it be positive.
