In the UK mother's day has already happened some time ago. I would like to celebrate the day with my mother, pamper her and make her feel loved. Unfortunately she is in the UK and I am in the Dom Rep so that really isn't possible. However, I sent her something that she really loves - an orchid, she loves what she calls her 'garden' it is a largish balcony which normally used to be full of flowers.
Now that my dad has passed away it has been difficult for her, especially as the years are creeping up on her. So her friends got together and took her a local garden centre and made sure that her 'garden' is looking beautiful. They are doing this because she will be 80 in a few weeks. So I am going over to see her and celebrate the occassion in style. That will be my mother's day present!
Thanks for sharing this with us, momma

There is nothing like a mother's love for her children and it must be so horrible to be without it, I do feel for you.
I know I probably only have a few precious years left but I cherish each and every moment. I also feel so sorry for my nephew and neice as they lost their mother in 2000 and their father last year! They are at least now in their early to mid 20s but still it is hard to be without your mother.
My heart goes out to you and I wish I could give you your wish of one more day with your mother.

I think the best Mothers Day gift a mother could get, is respect from their child. I think respect and peace of mind is the hardest thing in the world to come by these days. I really do not want a gift from my child. Her love and respect and to give me peace of mind would be good enough for me.
