No surprise here. American Idol has finally banned David's dad. Well, at least from rehearsals. I just wonder why they waited this long to finally do this. Here's the link to the article. http://www.charlotte.com/200/story/617744.html

I am glad that they have banned him. I've read a few articles of how he would treat his son backstage. I heard that he screamed at David or something like that and it was the same thing when David was in Star Search. I feel sorry for David for having to put up with a parent like that. I just hope that his dad doesn't have control over his finances and stuff. I have high hope that David will win American Idol but even if he doesn't he will probably get a record deal anyways.

I agree with you and howard, who posted above. Hopefully someone can say look David...having your dad as a manager or in control of your finances is not a good idea. Breaking away from his dad could be the best thing for him. As scared as David seems to be on stage and from what we've heard, I wonder if his dad will go ballastic if he doesn't win.

It's such a shame when a parent does that to a child. His Dad needs to back off and he is going to be sorry when the boy turns 18 and can fire him. I have a hub on David Archuleta if you want to read it: http://hubpages.com/hub/David-Archuleta-on-his-way-to-becoming-the-next-American-Idol

I like David Archuleta at the same time he's dad doesn't need to be there. I am sure he is nervous enough without his father to be there to make things worser for him. I read about this myself from somewhere else.

This is long overdue. He should have been banned from the start of the competition. If David wins I hope his father will not be in charge of his money - I feel sorry for David, he doesn't deserve this.

Yeah I was wondering why it took so long too. Its gotta be harder to practice in front of people and have a parent right there trying to take over.

This is awful, I don't know why some parents act this way. What sort of example is this for their kids? If I were David I would be so incredibly embarrassed I wouldn't be able to look my dad in the eye for quite awhile.
