I wear glasses to see clearer and to read. I have bifocals. I need another eye exam and new glasses as I cant' see good up close again with my glasses on. I have never worn my glasses in all the 18 years I've been online. Even with good glasses i don't wear them. I prefer not to is all. I can't drive without them. I can't read withoput them unless I am suoper close to the material like the monitor. So do you wera your glasses when you're at the puter? Do you have bifocals? Trifocals? Just reading glasses? Contacts/

hi Grandpa Bob I have bifocals now and have worn
glasses since I was eleven. I had a devil of a
time getting used to the bifocals. now I am oncemore
going tohave to have my eyes checked and new glasses.
I hate having my eyes dilated, really hate it,but if
I donot get my eyes checked my best friend's going
to flip out. we have a dinner date every two weeks
and the first thing she will ask me did you get an]
appointment to see your optometrist and I need an
excuse and do not have one. so best I do get an appointment.
I have to wear them here at the computer, I am really
nearsighted. when I was a kid I would put on myglasses
at home then sneak them off at school as they were so
ugly. little round lenses and horrid looking dark frames
and everyone called me owleyes.oh my how cruel grade
school kids can be lol now I do wear them all the time
but they are rather attractive now. I have never tried
leavingthem off while I am on the computer. however
lately Ihave been getting headaches so I know I have
to go thru the torture and get new glasses lol

I wish I could type that well, as long as I have been typing I still make big mistakes. If it is something important that I am typing, I have to use MS word.

I guess your eyes go thru changes during pregnancy so you wont get the correct contacts you can most just say its a waste of money.

Yep last year Bob, I reached the bi focal stage.... a Few years ago, I could no longer wear contacts.
Boy I have to say that upset me. Even with my bifocals I have a hard time seeing fine print up to close, I have even had to get the magnifying glass to read small print on medicine bottles....

I do not wear any glasses or contacts at the moment. I really don't have the need for them yet. There are times when I work at the computer though, that I think it really is affecting my eyesight. I have to squint after looking at the computer for so long sometimes.

It could be just the puter or you may have bad eyes.
An eye exam should be done each year.

I've worn mine for about 46 years or so. Nope I am online for hours and hours on end. Actually i do get up and do other things ever so often so i am probably staring at the monitor no more than a half hour or hour at a time.

I wear bifocals, but never got used to them. I can't wear them to read or to see things on the computer, and so I am really only using them for distance when I go out.

I have glasses and contact lens. I wear the glasses most of the time due to my allergies. I have bifocals but I don't wear them when I'm online or doing close work. I can still see pretty good up close without my glasses. I didn't even wear glasses until I was almost 30 yrs old and since I've gradually gotten more and more nearsighted. I worked for an optometrist for several years and he said it was unusual for someone to suddenly become nearsighted at my age. It seems like it started happening though not long after I got a pair of the colored contact lens. All of us girls in the office got some. I think mine had like a -.25 prescription cause I don't believe I could get any without any prescription (planos). I wonder if that caused my
eyes to get weaker.

My visual life is based on mono-vision. I will never be old enough for bifocals! I use a contact in my dominant eye, in this case my right eye for distance. I use nothing in my left eye for reading. I basically have had the same prescription since I was 19.
For driving, I essentially have the same glasses that I did then.

I had cataract surgery a few years back and had intraocular lenses implanted then. I now have mono vision. One eye sees far, one eye sees near. It works out pretty well. After cataract surgery a large percentage of patients will need another surgery - just like a little laser whisking away a film on the lens. I'm not bad enough yet to get it done, so I need glasses to drive at night.
Before my surgery I had blended lenses for my bifocals or trifocals.
You have quite a few fun questions today!

I can't see well without my glasses or contacts in.. If I did have to do something at the computer without them, it would be very uncomfortable, as I would have to lean in and over the keyboard to see...

I have two pairs of glasses, one for long distance and one for reading. I wear the 'readig' ones at the computer otherwise I have to get right up close to the screen to be able to see the small print. I too must have a checkup as I can't reaally read well with these now - more expense

I can see good without my glasses as long as I am not too close to the monitor. Too close and it's fuzzy so that's why I can go without them while on the puter.

I wear my glasses 24/7. I have to wear them all of the time or I can't see. I even have to put my glasses on when I wake up in the middle of the night, to go to the bathroom or I will walk into everything. My sight is that bad. I have worn glasses since I was 10 years old and I am now 51. I have worn contact lenses inbetween but can't wear them anymore since I am now bifocal. I have a pair of progressive lens and I hate them. Ever since I had to wear progressive lenses I have had nothing but problems with my neck and back. I am wearing my glasses now and I have to lift my head back to see out of the bottom of the lenses and my neck is so sore I can't stay on the computer for very long. I can only be on the computer for maybe an hour at a time or I get a headache and my neck gets so sore. I hate wearing glasses and I am going to see about getting my eyes lasered. I sure hope I qualify for the laser so I can get rid of my glasses altogether, if I am lucky.

..reading glasses is all I have.. and I'm blind as a bat, when it comes to reading, without them! I do use them for on the computer if I'm sitting close and facing the computer.. if I'm sitting sideways (to be more in the room with others instead of my back to them) and not so close to the monitor, I have to peer over the reading glasses, as I still need them to see the key board, or to see it clearly that is..

I wear contacts and have to wear them all of the time. I do have a pair of glasses but don't like to wear them unless I have to. I haven't worn glasses in so long that when I put them on I get light headed. But I have them incase I ever need them.

I wear my glasses all the time- Except when I’m sleeping. I never did when I was younger- then when I became old enough to work- I took a computer job. I started to wear my glasses at work- that is all it took. I think they make your eyesight even worse- you become dependent on them. After a few years- I wear them all the time now. If I don’t it’s blurry and I get headaches.
Mine are just regular glasses- no bi or tri-focals yet.

I don't wear glasses but I think my husband needs his eyes checked and might need glasses also. He's stubborn and won't get them checked. His eyesight is terrible.

I have had distance glasses since 7th grade. I have only worn them full time from 10th to my second year of college when I had a car wreck. I do wear them to drive or to watch movies/shows, but otherwise they live in the car.
I have both clean and sunglasses.
I also have reading glasses, because for the last 2 years I have reached the point were I really can't see up close without them. I have a pair at work, a pair on my desk, a pair in the roomie's room, a pair in the car, a pair I carry with me in my cell phone pouch...
I sometimes wear them at the computer (right now I don't have them on) I find I need them more when I'm tired.
I do need them to read or craft.

Hi GRANDPA BOB! I don't have any glasses but I think I should be really getting one now. Need to go to the eye doctor and have an eye exam. I can't read small prints anymore, very blurry!
Take care and God bless! happy mylotting!
