I mean come on! EVERY time I go to the bathroom and no one else is here: THE PHONE RINGS!
I have taken to bringing the phone with me now. I hate to talk on the phone while I am on the throne, but if every one calls while I am in there, well what am I to do!!

Hello tammy!:-)
It seems as though Mr Murphy is at work with your phone too!
My phone has the same annoying habit as yours but I have learned to make it tired of ringing and ringing again. Sometimes, I think that my phone plays tricks with me such that it holds incoming calls and rings only when I have already gone to washroom. Mr partner complains that why I am often in the toilet or bath when she calls (so I have to call her back later), not knowing that it's the other way around, she calls when I am there.

That's right it is their fault for calling while we're in there!LOL
Mine only rings 2 or 4 times then the answering machine picks up. Most people just hang up and don't leave a message. When I do get a message, I have only gone out to get the mail 'walk' the dog, chat to a neighbor, etc.

Yes, it's there fault. I don't know how people know that we are in bathroom so they could tease us? LOL! My partner and I often have fun about it.
I can't listen messages on my set, there is no function on the one I have. So, I have to use my TV for listening to messages and as it is not working now (little problem with my DSL TV line), I think people have grown disappointed about leaving messages, LOL! that's a good thing in one way!:-)
On a serious note, I do make an attempt to reconnect with people, so maybe they aren't that disappointed!:-)

My throne has that button too, and its connected to the front door! I only take the phone with me if I'm expecting a call. And I only answer it for a select few. There are just some things I don't want to share with everyone:)
When its the door, there is very little anyone can do, but hope you didn't want to see the person, or if you do want to see them, hope they don't leave before you get done.

I think that if you take the phone with you that is the actual guarantee that it will not ring. I hate to talk in there, as well, as it does not make a great phone booth, but sometimes you just must.

I hate that! I can sit here all day not one peep outta the phone. The minute I go in the bathroom and sit down, RIINNGGG!!! The same thing when the kids are playing outside, they do fine for hours, no dissagreements or anything. The minute I go in the bathroom, there is a fight, something is broken, or whatever! Then of course the neighbors are all out there....! Thank God they're moms so I'm sure they understand. But I swear it's like there are little demon spys or something waiting..Ok, she's just about on the toilet......NOW! RIIINNNGGG, WAAAAAHH, KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!! #:)

It's Newtons Law.... if you're busy the phone will ring. If you're out for a quick run to the store and didn't shower and look like crap, you will definitely run into someone you haven't seen in about 8 years! LOL

Don't answer it then. Or let a huge fart go into the reciever as they talk. I do not answer the phone when on the throne, or when I am eating. Never. It's time for me not for the phone and their callers etc at those times.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Now that was the advice my hubby wanted to offer. I did however enjoy the laugh from the discussion.

LOL I am just betting you would Fart in the phone!
Usually it is my carpool buddy/manager to see if I am up-ready to go- or if the bus is late or early.
(Her kids are 11-14 minutes ahead of mine)
I have to call her back if I don't have the phone with me. Which is most of the time.

Yeah and as soon as I find that damn button, I'm going to flush it down the toliet. Never fails when I'm just about to or am sitting on the throne the phone rings or someone comes over. Since my bathroom is right on the other side of the wall of the door, I usually just open the window and talk to whoever dares to disturb me. Once they realize what I'm doing, they get really embarrassed and leave quick. lol The window is right above the toliet so I just have to reach back to open it. As for the phone, I just let it ring and will check to see who called when I'm good and ready to get up and leave my throne.

Tammy, don't you know the phone company hooks the phone up to the door on the bathroom?? So then the phone can wait until you get in there to ring. Also, if you should have a funny phone call, then think how lucky you are to already be in the little girl's room, no wet undies!!!! And you don't have to change your undies either. And I also bet if you told whoever called you, what you were doing, they would end the call.
Have a great day and no more calls in the john.

I have to say I agree with you tammyr. It does seem to work with me too. Thank God for caller ID because it tells me who's calling and it's importance of the call whether or not it can wait or not. I hate talking on the phone while on the throne too but gosh, sometimes you just have to.

I know what you mean. If I am expecting an important call, I just take the darn thing with me. Because it always rings then. I hate having to cut my business short and trying to be quiet is a waste of time. There is a mute button and I've had to use it.
Sparks has invited you to come and take your bow for dethroning her as number 1 in this category.

I know there's one on mine for both the toilet seat and my shower, in fact there's one that someone can detect whenever I leave the phone out of my reach! I'm afraid I'm going to be giving away some of my most personal, innermost secrets but I've gotten pretty good at multi-tasking by taking care of my "duties" in the bathroom and taking care of my necessary phone calls at the same time...lol! I haven't started talking on the phone while in the shower, though.
