Copy & Paste, the 500 post rule.

i think its good, because if copy paste is allowed before the 500 posts then every one will join the mylot and start pasting so its good idea, but even after 500 posts dont just copy and paste, you must post your own contents

It was one of my motivation then to reach 500, as I am nearing it my wanting diminished, surely its good for links and quotes but I enjoyed typing more. Very seldom do I use it now.

I am one of the fortunate members that reached the 500 target before the rule was introduced, so it never applied to me. There is actually a good reason for the rule, becuase too many people think that if they join Mylot then copy and paste a vast amount of material it will earn them a lot of money. All this actually achieves is to flood the pages with garbage and make Mylot a difficult area to use for other members. The rule is on the basis that if a person has remained with Mylot for long enough to make 500 posts then they are reliable, whereas someone who is only interested in easy cash will leave before then. Obviously the system is far from perfect and is not fair on members who would not cheat from the onset, but it is the best practical approach that Mylot have found so far.

yes it does, for whenever the server is down and as the result i lose, discussions just posted i feel like kicking. But yes it does has it's pros to, If you are really into mylot ,then i gives you that extra energy and zeal to reach that magical figure. i makes life a lot easier, if you have that feature of copy and paste and to reach it is an achievement. Also it motivates you to reach you first pay out as 500 post means you have just made enough to reach payout.

I would find it annoying if it were something like a URL or a quote of someone, but I think it's a good rule because it prevents people from just pasting stuff and not providing anything original.
