Wrapping presents or gifts should not be a difficult task. Anybody can do it. But there are people who don't have the creativity to do so. Do you wrap your own present/gift or do you ask the sales person to do it for you? Do you use present boxes and tie it with ribbon instead?

It is always looks beautiful to present gifts in a eye-catching wrapping paper and silky ribbons. Wrapping enhances the beauty of a gift and it makes the receiver think, before opening the gift, what could be inside? If I have time, I prefer doing it myself. However, most of the time, it happens that gifts are bought at the last minute and consequently sales peson is asked to wrap it, of course after paying some extra charges.

The gifts i wrap generally look like c***. So if there is an option to have a salesperson do it, i usually take it.

I wrap my own gifts most of the times. However if it is really difficult then i ask the shopkeeper to do it for me.

I mostly wrap them myself. I buy wrapping paper and a card and that's it. Depending on how big the item is, i sometimes buy a bag and place the items inside and buy colored tissue paper to put on top.

I I don't hae too much stuff to do, I will wrap my own gifts, but if I have a lot o gifts, and no time to wrap them, I will ask the person at the store to wrap them. Either way I have to hide them when I am done, or else the cat will get into them and tear them all apart. LOL

I do a little of it all, ellie. I wrap my own gifts and enjoy handmaking and personalizing the gift tags for them. Sometimes I even make my own wrapping paper. But I enjoy occassionally using the beautiful gift bags that are on the market these days. It is fun to use those bags for a young childs birthday and put lots of colorful tissue paper sticking out the top because kids love to play with the paper. Also, there is a particular childs learning store that I buy a lot of gifts from and they gift wrap for free. They do it adorably and with it being free I always take them up on it. Then there are stores like Tiffany's where it is simply a must to have them wrapped in the blue paper with the blue boxes.

Hi Ellie, I always wrap my own gifts but must admit I am not really that creative and if the item is a funny shape I will tend to put into a gift box or bag rather than attempt to wrap. However, at Christmastime I will delibrately disguise the shapes of presents so that the person receiving will not be able to guess too quickly. In fact I don't think I have ever used a gift wrapping service even if offered. Ellie :D

Hello twins, ellie responding to ellie's discussion! I know what you mean. Sometimes those odd shapes items can be such difficult to wrap. I think gift box or bag is a better option nowadays. It is simple, fast and easy. I like wrapping presents. During Christmas, I am always the one who do the wrapping except of course my own Christmas present.

I have seen another on here too so one of triplets but your the younger and better looking one of these two but can't remember the avatar of the other at the moment!
Yes bags and boxes do make sense with the funny shaped ones even if they cost a little more. I love wrapping if I have the time. Ellie :D

I will confess. It's been some time since I wrapped a present. My daughter excels in wrapping, so I let her have fun_ I think she enjoys it?
One year, I received a present wrapped in a very unusual manner. It had plain paper on it, but there were buttons and stickers and little bows glued all over it.
It was so charming, I asked about it. My friend told me her younger sister was bored one day and she sent her sister to wrap presents. Without much to work with, her sister's imagination went into overtime.
I can't describe the wrapping to perfection, it was much more interesting looking than my description.
Long ago Christmases, I wrapped my family's presents. I went to the craft store and selected a pick (you know, the little decorations glued to the stick so you can use them for wreaths and such?)
I found a way to glue them on all my presents. People who received my presents, actually saved the decorated box and put it out as part of their interior Christmas decor.
That was fun. Thanks for thinking of this unique question. I enjoyed answering it.

hello ellie,
i wrapped my own gift and sometime and i make it extra special by adding a personal touch based on who will get it.
i just love the feeling of giving something and that the gift is something that symbolizes our love for them.
i think i belong to the creative one coz i dont wrapped the gift in a traditional way.
last christmas we wrapped so many gifts and it is such a lot of fun, i love christmas time and birthdays and other occasions as well.
btw, sometimes i place a ribbon on it and sometimes i made something up depends on what is available at the time.
my husband enjoys how i make things up and his mom really enjoys the one i made for her she said she dont even want to open it coz i wrapped it so cute LOL
takecare and thanks for the smile.

I used to do a lot of gift wrapping but the older I get, the more I try to use the gift bags.. I do try and pick out the most appropriate bag and a snazzy matching bow, and ribbon to dress up the bag.. i also try and match the bag with the gift, if possible, but when Christmas comes around and there are too many gift to wrap and it is too expensive to buy bags for all of the gifts, then I go the wrapping paper route.. I can never get all of the gift wrapped in one sitting, I usually leave some for later and, by the time that I am through wrapping all of them, I am so ready to never have to wrap another gift in my entire life.. But under no circumstances do I have someone else wrap my gifts for me, it is a personal preference, I invested my time in picking out what I thought was the right gift, the right bags or paper and it is my job to do the wrapping myself..

I have learned from my mom to wrap presents in a simple way. and with my interest in crafts, I have the talent to learn to wrap easily and with style just by watching people. Thus my cousins and my siblings always ask me to wrap their gifts for them.
It depends on the item or gift to be wrapped an if a box is present or not. If its not available, then I just make a bag fitting the gift with it.
