How often do you lose your DVD remote control?

I guess this is more of a TV or electronics type question, but in a way it impacts anyone who loves watching movies. Currently, my remote control for the DVD player is missing, so I am at the mercy of the movie makers. I have to sit through all those lousy movie previews at the beginning of the DVD. And, I can't skip back to a favorite part of the movie. My other DVD lets you skip through those, but it's not working well. Most times, when I don't have my DVD remote, I have to run my movies on the computer. That's just more convenient anyway. So, what do you do, when you lose your remote control for the DVD player?

I don't usually lose mine because in all honesty, there isn't really a place I could lose it except for maybe in the side of the couch. But my dad is all the time losing his DVD remote. He will search the couches, the chairs, the kitchen, and he even goes into the bathroom just in case he took it in there (don't know why he would). If he can't find it, he usually just doesn't watch the DVD. He'll wait until I come over and then ask me to find it. And I usually do.

That's nice! Mine usually gets lost under my loveseat, because there is a small hole in the side that goes down to the floor. I can't remember how the hole got there but it gobbles up my remotes!

We lose ours all the time. We are always hunting for it. We don't use it alot so most of the time we are on the hunt.

We lose it much more often than I like. I have kids running around and using it and then they forget where they put it, or it gets shoved in to the box of knitting/yarn crafts that is next to the couch. Currently we are using the T.V. remote for the DVD player (they are both RCA) because I can't find the pack of batteries I recently purchased so that I can put new batteries in to the DVD remote. I had removed them so I could have batteries for the camera.

I just keep the remote on the tv stand, unless I'm using it. I recently got a Logitech Harmony One universal remote, so now I just use that and the regular remotes are on the tv stand.

You have to look for all in one remotes that allows you to use it with the most of the dvd player brands. Another solution will be to buy another remote of the same brand but i actually don't know if it's possible, you should contact your retailer.

well it is a problem that haunts me every now and then.... i loose my dvd remote control and also that of the television set very often. when i get up from watching something, i usually take the remote with me and keep it some place... and then the next time i would search and while searching i would loose the zeal to watch what i was thinking of watching. have a nice day.

Lucky for me my DVD player lets me skip forward and backward so I can miss all the previews and stuff. But usually when I lose my remote I try not to look for it 'cause it'll turn up eventually if I don't move too much around; besides my blankets.. 'cause it's usually under my pillows or beddings. lol

I understand your feeling I just got batteries for my remote tom my dvd player. I hated having to wait for all of the new movie previews and everything to get to the movie. I was so glad to finally remember to get batteriers. I hope you find your remote control soon.

I solved that problem and bought an All In One remote that I hide when I am done with it. I know exactly where it is and hide it when no one is paying attention. There is a spot on the television for all the remotes but no one bothers to put them away so I told them the next time they go missing I am not wasting my time looking for them. One went missing for over a week and (gasp) they had to actually get up and change the channels on the cable box.

I've never lost mine actually (but since I've said that, you watch I will now). I don't watch a lot of DVD's but when I do, the remote comes with me and then goes back on top of the player when I am finished. I never take it anywhere else. I don't see the need to. It's how I make sure I never lose the important things.

Oh I hate it when the DVD remote is missing. It seems like its always missing. The kids and I usually try our hardest to find it, or daddy will get really angry. lol.
