Typing?

I am at my daughters using her puter for some myLotting. But let me say that this really sucks too. I am a hunt and peck typist meaning I use a dew fingers and I stare at the keyboard as I type. Now her keyboard is old and half the letters are worn out that I get lost trying to type. Some day I'll be able to type better. I want her to get a new keyboard. Is your keyboard so old that the letters and symbols are worn off to where you can't see them? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Grandpa Bob turned into a girl, ewwww. I know how to type and still look at the keys at times. My letters are still good. You can buy a new keyboard for less then $10, hint hint. That would be a nice Mothers Day present for someone.

They got me some plants instead as the keyboard works just fine if you know where the keys are.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Your discussion came into my inbox because I have the allert turned on for your daughter's discussions. I have heard a lot about you. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Reverend Wendy. My daughter is Edgyk8inmomma. Don't know if you know her, but she is here at the lot, too. Sorry about the keyboard thing. I have a brand new pc, so my keys are all shiny and easy to read. Thank goodness!! I would be lost otherwise. I can use a few fingers. but I still have to look:)! My first typewriter was a 1940's manual and I took a paint marker to it. God bless! Rev Wendy

I too am a hunt-and-peck typist but by being a member of MyLot I have increased my speed to around 25-30 words per minute...alot better than before. My style is rough on the keyboard of course as I have not learned the difference between a touch and a pounding.Save the money you make on MyLot and get a keyboard. We keep one extra here at all times.

My keyboard is old, but I am a typist I don;t have to look at the keys, I learned the old fashioned way in school with the letters taped on a typewriter so that nobody could look at the letters. It is the only way to learn properly, as long as you type looking at the letters you are slower and run into the problems you are facing now.

It is confusing that you are typing under her name. At first I thought it was her. As I was reading, I was thinking, I didn't know that she had a grown daughter, LOL. But it is you grandpa. I think I may be good enough now to type with the letters rubbed off, but I sure wouldn't want to have to. But then again, I would learn to type without looking at the letters.

Hi, I certainly used to be a hunt and peck typist. I type so much now though that I have self trained myself and am actually pretty fast. I do always look at the letters however, so when they start to wear out (and they do) I go and get a new keyboard. cheers,

I am basically a touch typist, and I do not look. My big issue right now is that the shift key on the left does not always shift when I hit it, so the things I want to capitalize do not get capitalized.. I will say you certainly look lovely today, you should sign in under her profile more often. It will earn her money. Happy day to you my friend.

I'm not a great typist either, but I used to be. I still have to look at the keys, but not all the time. Sometimes I just get my fingers in the wrong spot so it's all typed wrong, and then I don't notice it right away, and it's a mess.....Any ways, that's me, a mess.

LOL! That is funny grandpa, I wish someone is there for you anytime you can't locate it! I have it clear still for me and being here in mYlot for like 6 hrs three times a week make me memorize some of the letters in my keyboard. I am not very dependent but I know my output isn't that perfect too~!

I don't know how to type either. I call us type chicken p------. I can chicken peck pretty fast. I found a really cool key board. It's small perfect for a chicken p-----. People i know that actually know how to type don't like it. It lites up too, which is optional. Some times i snack at the computer so i covered it with plastic. Took a gallion zip bag cut it open and taped it on the back side. It's loose enough to easily peck and protects it from everything. The name of the key board is a ZIPPY.

Let me recomend one of the best and easiest typing programs that I have ever found Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. It is fun and in just a short time you will no longer be huntining and pecking. Good Luck

I dont need to take a look at the keyboard while typing. I used to initially but its a long time now since i have stopped looking at the keyboard. The fingers simply move to the proper keys as i think about the words i want to write. My key board has proper indications on all the keys and are used by my daughers for guidance.

My keyboard is less than a year old. But I also have another keyboard that is more than 9 years old. But the letters are visible and it looks good as new (with all the typing I do, that's a surprise). Anyways, I've learnt to type and I can touch type without having to look at the keyboard. So, it wouldn't affect me:)

If the keyboard still works OK then you can just buy a set of new keyboards letters to stick over the keys. Why are you using you father's signature? It does not natch with your pretty ID photo.

Yes, the keyboard to my desktop computer is worn and I have one or two sitting around still in their boxes but just haven't changed. I have no problem but my husband is a hunt and peck person also. I remember those eye straining days myself until one day I got a book at the library and taught myself how to type. I took typing back in junior high but just didn't pick it up back then.

hi Grandpa Bob nope my keyboard is old but the thing is I have had about four different keyboard since the original one developed some sort of glitch that was deemed irreparable. Since my son had at least a half dozen keyboards tangled up in his bedroom he just replaced it with one that the space bar stuck all the time. grrrrrr.then when I complained he replaced it with a brand new one that was still in its box.big mistake as it did not suit mymonitor or mycomputer either.I would log on and no keyboard the puter even said keyboard missing. so now I have again the one that has a space bar that' sticks so the words looklikethis instead of looks like this grrrrrr. But at least I can read all the keyslol I learned to type in high school but I still make a zillion typos.
