What type of milk does your household prefer?

I cannot stand the taste and texture of whole milk, plus the fact that it is 2% fat. Due to having asthma my entire life I have always consumed skim milk. When first moving to California from New Jersey no one really knew the term "skim milk". Instead it is known most often as fat free milk. My youngest son drinks soymilk due to issues he has with casein. My older son also drinks skim milk and just loves it. I like to put some chocolate syrup in mine as well. I have started getting the juice type box of soymilk for my son's lunch - this is only found at Whole Foods Markets and the cost is about $2.09 for three little boxes. The brand is Edensoy. They also carry one that is Rice & Soy. My son seems to like this one also. I have yet to try straight rice milk or almond milk for him. What type of milk do you prefer?

Got Milk - Got Milk on board under cow drinking milk from a straw out of a little milk carton
The only way I can drink milk is in cereal or if I add chocolate to it. I can drink either whole milk or 2% but do not like anything less. It just tastes to watered down. I have tried the soy milk but it leaves an after taste in my mouth so I stay away from it as well.

I've gone from whole milk for the kids when they were switched to milk as toddlers for a year or so, to 2 % milk, and now 1%. I don't drink much milk straight up, but the kids do and they use it in cereal everyday.

I buy whatever brand of 1%milk the store has. Skim milk is somewhat too thin and 2% is a little too thick. Whole milk is not an option unless it is the only option and then I would add water to it to thin its consistency.

My kids prefer 2% milk. I myself prefer soy milk. My littele 1 yr old neice who lives me loves whole milk. But the doctor recently put her on soy milk formula...Which she throws the bottle down. She would rather have her whole milk.

My kids drank whole milk from the age of 1 year, until they were approx 2 years old. Then I switched them to 2% milk. Just recently I started buying them 1% milk, although my husband isn't crazy about it- but it's not like we sit around drinking milk anyway.

I've always been a big fan of skim milk myself, but my boyfriend prefers 2% milk and we live with his mother who prefers whole milk. A lot of the time we end up with at least two gallons of milk in the fridge because us two women won't budget and try a different kind.

We have a fridge full of milk, it seems! My father and younger sister drink skim milk, the type that still has some fats and is a lot creamier than regular skim milk. My mum drinks non-fat milk (which I personally think is pretty much like drinking water; it seems so thin and non-existent). Me? I drink soymilk, or rice milk, depending on what I prefer. Usually I get the no fat soy milk, which still tastes great and doesn't have the extra calories. I drink it because I cannot have cows milk, it causes rashes on my skin. We also keep a carton of lactose-free milk in the firdge for when my boyfriend comes over; he has Coeliac's disease and can't have lactose or soy.

We used to drink whole milk here until we got health-conscious (at least about fat content); however, we don't like skim milk. It might be the healthiest choice if one is to drink cow milk, but honestly, for us, it's like drinking milk-colored water. Thus, 2% low-fat milk is the moo-juice of choice at my house. By the way, I've never liked plain milk as a beverage. I can pour it on cereal, but I can't abide the taste of milk in a glass or carton without some flavoring.

I was raised on whole milk as a child. I hated plain white milk and still dont particularly care for it. Only in cereal do I like it. But, we give our two year old son whole milk also. They say he needs it for the fat. We also like choclate milk lots-but we dont buy it often. I have never had goats milk, rice milk, soy milk or almond milk--does it taste different??

I and my family take whole milk. I have had this thing called Lactose intolerance some time ago but I overcame it by taking a little milk every day and by increasing the intake. I have read a book titled "What Your Doesn't Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You" by Dr.Ray.D.Strand which emphasizes the need for supply of good nutrients to our body. It is a very good book and you will be surprised to see how the medical community is catering to the vice of the pharmaceutical industry by just ignoring the fact that most of these Allergies, Asthma, Heart Diseases and other Degenerative Diseases can be prevented and cured by supplying our body with nutrients in adequate quantity. In older times there were Contagious or Infectious diseases. Then the human body was strong and the foods they took had adequate quantity of good nutrients. But by the passage of time the quality food we take deteriorated due to the preservative and additives added to the food items. It is said that preserved foods loss about 60% of the nutrients. And hence these Degenerative diseases. Don't take preserved tinned food. Preserve your Body.

We always drink skim milk. I don't know if it's been proven or not, but I have found being lactose intolerant, that Skim milk isn't as bad on my stomach as any other type. The kids seem to tolerate Skim better as well.
