What if you got a phone call telling you I won a cash prize! Be careful! Those things are most scams. I couldn't believe that some one still falls for that kind of scams.
Give it up, man. When you go to pick up your prize, the first thing they'll want is all your credit card or bank information. After you leave, they'll steal all your money.
My friend Hua just got his bank account ripped off last week.
He got a phone call from a professional sounding woman who knew everything about him-his full name, bank account, date of birth, work and home address. She told Hua she worked for the bank and needed him to go to the ATM and key in some info. She talked really quickly and gave him no time to think. He did what she said and then his life savings went “poof” and disappeared!
These days is just swarming with con artists.

How awful for him!! There is an especially horrible place in the afterlife for those people. They are so selfish and greedy, they probably all die alone and unloved.
I never, ever conduct business over the phone. I won't even donate to an established charity over the phone, I insist they send me something through the mail. I have yet to receive mail from the many police charities or children's charities that call me.
Can Hua contact the bank and file a fraud report? Most banks, at least here in the U.S., will refund the money eventually and prosecute the crooks.

My mom works with a woman that even after everyone told her that a check she received saying she won money but had to cash the check and send back $5,000 to collect the $750,000 she won still went to her bank, cashed it and sent in the money. End result, she was out over $10,000 plus banking fees for the check bouncing after placed in her account. I just shook my head. I'm not sure HOW you could be so gullible!?

sad to say but here in our country, a lot of swindler's victims are from the province. my sister-in-law was once a victim of them. she received a text message telling her that she won $250,000! with all these permit numbers and other goverment numbers as a proof that it's legal. all she has to do is to buy mobile phone cards, scratch it and text the necessary code numbers so the swindler can call her and tell on how to claim the prize. to her excitement, she bought 10 mobile phone cards worth $8 each, and texted all the code numbers! and when she ask the swindler to call her for her prize, she received this message: "THANK YOU SO MUCH!" lol!

There is no way I would go and do that. There are umteen million scams out there and people are still getting people to go and do this even after it is known the scams that are out there. That is the same thing as these emails that come in and say that you have won the lottery. Then they want you to send all kinds of important information. I just delete those. No one is going to relieve me of my money in any of these scams. I am a highly skeptical person when I am told I have won anything.

Yeah.. There are alot of scams happening all around the world.. mOst of the scam will involve your family members, by saying they are hospitalised or even kidnapped, then asking u to transfer money to them for your family member's safety.. And now it's actually very common.. But as their plot is revealed, they even go to the extend of knowing that the child is overseas and they carry out their scam from there..
I just wish that those scammers will get scam one day by their own collegues because of GREED and MONEY!!!

I have never had a phone call telling me that I have won some money, but I keep getting phone calls telling me that I have won a luxury holiday. There are 2 companies that keep phoning me, one is actually a pretty good deal, but it costs me a set amount of money a year, that I just cannot afford to pay. The other is one for timeshares and I do not want a timeshare, I want to be able to go on holiday when I want and where I want, and not be stuck in the same place year after year.

I think your friend is quite silly? Every one knows you never give out bank details to anyone .If the bank wanted these details they would write to you and make apointment for you to go to the bank and see them? People never give away free gifts that is always a scam? Your friend has learnt the hard way by being foolish and careless. If I was told I had won a lot of monay I would ask them to send it to me not give them my bank details so they can TAKE my money. that was a bad move.
