Do you have a dog for company? How many years has it been spend with you?How old is it?What's the oldest age that for a dog do you think?
It 's assumed that dogs generally do not live more than 20 years. But there have been a few exceptions. Good records exist for several dogs which are known to have lived between 20 and 25 years. The oldest reliable age for a dog is a little beyond 29 years. It is believed that very few dogs have lived much beyond this age.
Do you think it's true?

We have 5 dogs & breed too. Our oldest dog now is almost 10 years old. The oldest dog I have known was 18 years old and he had a poor quality of life as he had to urinate very often and couldn't walk far. I have never known of any other dog living past 12-13 years & think it's very unlikely they could have a good life after about 15.

That's cool. Mine is 11 now and she's still very active and I hope she'll stay that way in 13 like yours.

My dog Eddie is about 3 or 4 years old. We got him from the RSPCA so we're not quite sure exactly what his real age is.
Well yes it is true that dogs generally don't live beyond 17 or so but I do believe that there have been a handfull of dogs that have lived longer in the past.
Just like humans can live to a very old age (110 +) I'm sure the same happens with dogs, just very rarely.

My dog is eight and I hope he lives to be 15 or 16. I'm going to try really hard to make that happen. Sometimes he seems like he is depressed though, and that worries me.

Dogs are good to have as pets! They all start to bark shortly before an earthquake hits! Did you hear the dogs barking? I remember when we had a big earthquake here, that I heard the neighborhood dogs are howling and barking like they never had before! They can sense it before we can.

I've read that the bigger the dog, the shorter their lifespan. I had a cocker-poodle-beagle-dachshund that lived to be 19 and even then I had to take him to the doctor and put him to sleep one day because he could no longer walk. Hector was the best dog I ever had!!
Most of my dogs live 13+ years so I haven't had many. My dogs now are 8 and 7 this August and I'll miss them a lot when they leave me in 5-8 years. They are my last dogs..I'm 54 and don't want any pets to outlive me because they may not find good homes. But I do think I'll be a foster "parent" for a couple of dogs!
I've never heard of a dog living 20-25 years but I suppose it's possible with the best of care and an attentive human!

My oldest dog is 15 years old. I have had her long before my husband, lol. I have 4 more and not real sure of their age. One is about 5 y/o, one is about 3 y/o and the other one I would say about 7 or 8. A couple of them were abandoned and I can't be sure about their age,esp one. The other was a puppy so I can estimate.

I have a 3 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever, I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. I had a Golden Retriever that lived to be 14, which is really old for a large breed dog, I had a dachsund that lived to be 15. Generally smaller breed dogs live longer than the larger breeds. However, I also had a hamster that lived to be 10 years old, which is probably some kind of record lol since small animals like hamsters, rat, etc usually only live for like 2 - 3 years tops.

We do have a dog. We have had her since she was just a couple of months old. She is a Rottweiler. She is now 10 years old and you can tell she is an older dog. She has arthritis in her shoulders and sometimes she gets very achy. Rottie's tend to live between 13 and 15 years depending on their personal health issues. So far this is her only issue so I know we have a few more good years with her.
