I was sitting in front of my computer screen mylotting. Then I felt a little shake, and I didn't know what's going on.I saw my computer screen was shaking,my desk, and the bed was shaking too.I didn't know what was going on.I know it's shaking ,the first thing going round in my mind was that the shaking might damage my computer! So I saved what I was writing and turned off the computer quickly.
Then the shake went a little fiercer.Earthquake! But I was wearing pajamas then.I tried to find my clothes, but I was nervous and scared ,I thought I might don't get enough time to put my clothes on.So just grab my boyfriend's coat and wrapped me in it.When I was about to leave,I moved my computer off to the floor,I was afraid it might fall off the dest and break. Then I grab my keys, the moment I locked the door,I heard the mirror fell off the wall and broke.I ran to my roomate's door crying and knocking, but nobody answered. So I just ran down stairs to the street.Lots of people are running! Then I found my leg was shaking like crazy because of the fear.
It lasted several minutes. Now many people are still out there in the street,I just got back.I tried to call my boyfriend and my family. All the calls are disconnected. Now I still can't make any calls.I just chatted with some friends online.According to them, the earthquake happened in Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Sichuan, and Shanxi etc.Fortunately it's not a big earthquake and nobody was hurt right now.

That's lucky of u that u escape in time.. BUt i'm wondering, is your computer more important than your life?? If not, y will u bother to move your computer to the floor and ended up with not having enough time for u to change?? this is 1 thing i dun quite understand..
But wat matters most that, u are fine and hopefully that u can contact your bf and family members real soon ^_^

I was total blank in my brain then.I didn't know what's going on.I saw this little shake, all I knew in my head was ,this shake is no good to my computer! My God!
Atually, the epicentre of the quake was 93 kilometres north of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. We felt it in other provinces, including our province Shanxi.

Wow!!! you are the first person I have come across who has witnessed an earthquake. How it must feel to have the very firm ground shaking under our feet and you have so little time to gather yourself from the shock and move out of the closed rooms! I am glad that it was not very severe and you have suffered no loses. How’s the computer, I see that you value it more than your life!

I just didn't know what was going on then.Felt some shaking ,the first thing going around my mind was, this shake does no good to my computer!
Then when the shake began fiercer ,I thought the building was going to collapse or something, still had no idea that it was an earthquake!
Actually,The epicentre of the quake was 93 kilometres north of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province.Shanxi, the place I live, and other provinces shook by the earthquake, too.We are lucky to be alive. But thousands of people were killed in Wenchuan of Sichuan province.Terrible!

Hi Gnxfly,
Just got to know about the terrible earthquake that rocked your country yesterday. I think it was a more fierce continuation of the mild one you all felt in your area. The moment I heard in on TV I was thinking of you. I do hope you and all your acquaintances are OK.

Oh how scary!!! I don't know what I would do if I was ever in an earthquake! I would probably freak out! Of course I would first get my animals somewhere safe!!! Probably keep them with me when I went outside.
I hope that you're okay now and you haven't lost anything too important to you! The mirror that broke wasn't some important family treasure or gift was it? Did you lose anything else!?
It's good no one was hurt!!

I was taking nap when the shake wakened me up. And then I saw the TV, lighting tube and the bed shaking. I heard someone crying 'earthquake'. And when I standing before the window, I saw people in the street behave just as usual. But I felt the building was shaking. That frightened me greatly. I am living on the 6th floor. I thought there was no time to get down so I sheltered into the toilet. It is a safer place because of the tubes.
By the way, I am living in Lanzhou.
Xian was influenced greater than Lanzhou. Hope you are all right.

Though it may not have been a very big earthquake, it still sounds like a terrifying experience to me. The worse I have ever seen is a real bad rainstorm with lightning. I am glad that you are okay and everyone else seems okay as well. I am sorry about your mirror though.

It's really lucky to be alive.I didn't take it seriously then,I wasn't sure it was a earthquake till I ran down stairs.I thought the building was going to collapse because of some reason.
But when I heard it from the news last night,I knew how terrible it was,9219 lives were lost in this earthquake!
The epicentre of the quake was 93 kilometres north of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. But we felt it in our province and other provinces.

I hope that you and your family are okay, we you able to get a hold of your boyfriend. OMG, that was no little earthquake. It's all over the news over here. gxnfly I'm so sorry to read about what happen over there. Please take care and be careful. The earthquake measure 7.9, I believe that is big. How far away are you from the epicecenter? We have been so lucky, we have not gotten a big earthquake. I can understand how you feel, when you lose control and there nothing you can do but wait until it stops.

First of all,I am glad to hear that you are safe! But I still very worried~
I am also a Chinese,I live in Shenyang,Lingning.I am very concerned about this earthquake, because many of my friends and classmates live there,Itried to call them, but it was unable to get through!I hope that they are also safe!
I surfed the internet about this earthquake just now,and the newest news said the earthquake center in Wenchuan,Sichuan. The magnitude is 7.8.
I think the year of 2008 is a severe test to our country! but we should believe that we can pass through all difficulites successfully!
In addition, your English is very good~I am glad to make friends with you!

I have just this minute heard about this on the news in the UK, so you must live right near it then, I am glad to hear that you are ok though. It must have been really scary for you, not knowing what was going on or how bad it was going to be. I hope that there was not too much damage to your area or the surrounding areas. But I am really glad that you are ok.

Wow, is the only thing I can think of. My heart goes out to the families that lost loved ones with this earthquake, and to the people that lost their homes. I never have experienced one, and not looking forward to the New Madrid fault to go off. I'm used to tornados and hurricanes, but not the ground shaking. I wouldn't know what to do, probably freak out. Your country is in my prayers.

OMG that must have been very scarry, how are you feeling now??.
Apparently here in the UK we have more earthquakes than any other country but they are so small that we don't feel them luckily, but i'm always concerned just in case it does happen. Is that the first one that you have ever encountered?, i hope not too many people you know got hurt. I will be thinking of you all at this scarry time.
All the best Aqua

We are all very disturbed and sorry to hear about the earthquake. We are also shaken to hear the news of destruction. Hope God will give strength to those, who have lost their near and dear ones. I also hope that everything is fine at your end and you are safe and sound and your family members too are safe.
