Can we believe all that a Mylotter posts.........

something personal is easier to share in this medium. primarily because we dont need to be an authority to write about our own relationships. it is not subject to criticisms or subject to academics. no grades. no ratings. it is also catchy. we can always get attention when we share something juicy. and a lot of people experienced being in a relationship so a lot of people can jive and pitch in. in the end, it is all a matter of sharing and the discussion process that makes the tag meaningful. it is not about how truthful it is. it is about how many people can dialogue about it. we are in an open virtual venue and no one can stop us from sharing and posting - regardless of the relevancy and the truthfulness of the person and the content. someday, somewhere, someone will be able to read and relate and reply. happy reading and tagging!

I don't believe that everything everyone says on Mylot is true as I don't believe everything people say in general to be true. People may lie to get lots of replies on their discussions, to get sympathy, and many other reasons. Even though this person is lying the discussion may help someone with actual problems.

i think its the trus case in some posts. but in many the poster post such to get many responses. i have seen few post by a user where all problems are hers but the posts are like the user have switched gender.

As far as my mylotting expereince, i have not thought about the truth of the people here on mylot. For the past one year and thre months I believe the stories that mylotters post here. They sound credible and they sound true to me. I give them advice and words of encouragement to lift their spirits and serve as their social support system even if we have not seen each other. I enjoy mylotting sharing things and sharing good and bad things here about our lives. Its easier to share it here specially when we have expereinced it really happening in our lives, its hard to invent here, of course it would be very obvious and we will be able to identify if the stories are just made to draw attention and harvest lots and lots of responses. I think that there are probably some who play up relationship issues as a way of getting attention, but that is a shame because it takes focus away from those who are genuinely looking for some advice.
