How do you feel when you part with your lover

I have been single for over 20 years since my birth.Today one of my best friends tell me that she was driven crazy because she parted with her boyfriend today.I feel confused.When we choose someone as our boyfriends or girlfriends;we are seeking for happiness.When we quit our boyfriends or girlfriends,we are also trying to seek for happiness.But we have opposite feelings when we are doing something for same purpose. Isn't it confusing?

Not really. Ultimately, all humans just want to be happy and not lonely. So we often find our partners somewhere to fill up that empty gap within us. That's all. Period.
