Earthquake in China

United States

I would like to say that I hope all my friends from China here on Mylot are doing OK with regards to the Earthquake that has recently happened. I am hearing conflicting reports on the number of fatalities. One site says 10,000 people so far and others say 5,000 people. Well, one person is too many! I heard it was felt over a large part of Asia, too.

My thoughts and prayers are also with all those affected, especially those who are a part of the myLot community. It was strange today... I woke up suddenly when a crow started calling its "wake up now" call. I stayed in bed for a time until I heard a distant door knock. I prayed for the people I know, for my relations. I then got up and immediately started looking around and thinking about earthquakes...wondering if I should put something in a clothing drawer instead of leaving it out.I prayed for all people who needed a second person to pray with them for all people in the world who were needing help, guidance, protection, etc. There was a feeling that something was happening or going to happen but I did not know what it was. I now realize that all of this was occurring at the same time the earthquake was occurring in China... I reside in Calfornia, USA, a place where earthquakes It is proof again to me that we are all related and connected and that what happens in one place in the world, to one person in the world effects us all. I wanted to also start something here at myLot as you did as the desire to help is present, wanting to do something for someone there... Thanks for starting this discussion.

It's funny, too, I've been thinking about earthquakes, too. We've been having a few here and there when I live. I also live in southern California.

Yeah, I feel awful for those who were affected by earthquake in China. Especially those who mylot all the time. I pray for all those victims. Well, my aunt in Georgia was affected by the tornado in Atlanta. She and my relatives live northeast of there. We are always alert via the weather station on tv.

thank you for your kindly caring. It occurred at 2:28 o'clock (Beijing time)this afternoon. I was taking noon nap then and was waken up by the shock. It lasted about 2 minutes in the city. But in my hometown, things were worse. My grandma's house was broke down. Luckily, there is nobody hurt. Thank you all.

It's very kind of you, my dear friend. This time the earthquake is so serious and it has affected many places in China. I am very sad to it. I hope there will be no more damages and people will stay well. In fact I have seen some photos from the earthquake places and that's so terrible. No need to argue the number of the fatalities, the most important is we try to do something to help them. I love China

HUGE loss in China occured due to major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wehchuan country Sichuan Province and toppled buildings across a wide area of central China killing more than 10,000 people , trapping hundreds of students under the rubble of schools and spilling ammonia from chemical plant. The 7.8- magnitude earthquake devasted a region of small cities and towns set amid steep hills northeast of Sichuan's provincial capital of Chengdu. Beijing mobilised nearly 8,000 soldiers and police to provide rescue in Sichuan and put the province on the second-highest level of emergency footing. I only prays to those, who have rescued from the debris, to have patience and God bless them.
