your first grandchild

I don't have grandkids just yet, but I can imagine that it is a hard job, just waiting.. I get fidgety after awhile and have to get up and walk.. I did wait 14 hours for my son to be born, but I wasn't really bored at that time.. ood luck with the new baby, enjoy it..

Well I am not a grandma but I know about how my mom felt when I had my daughter. She was expected on Dec 15th so we had booked my moms plain for Dec 6th. On Dec 5th at 7am I called her. She started crying right away saying I'm gonna miss it!!! She knew I was NEVER up that early. She tried all day to find a flight that wasn't $900! She didn't so I had my daughter with her on the phone, my husband and mother in law by my side. My mom came in the next day and I was sooo happy to see her she was soooo happy to see my little one - a girl (it was a suprise we didn't find out). So just be glad your there with your daughter waiting or not.

Well, my oldest is only 5, but my mom was with me when i had my daughter and it was her first grandchild. she did really well. she was calm and helped me through it alot. they had to break my water with all 3 of my kids, but my first labor went pretty smoothly. I think it was rough for my mom seeing me in pain, but she held up well. she said she was about to passout trying to do my breathing with me though lol.

Congratulations for your first grandchild. I know it would be long way to go before I'll have mine, since my kids are still very small this time, but I understand the feelings, I see it in my parents eyes when they got their first grandchild.
