i put this in this category because of the two kitties in the pic.. and the nature of the topic.. where it otherwise normally would be put into animals.. or pets.
you hear stories all the time about dogs being protective of their human children. its a rather common thing, theyre cute stories, everyone for the most part likes to hear them, but no ones really all that surprised when someone tells a story of fido looking after junior..
ive mentioned a couple tales here n there around the Lot about my little girls kitty Rogue acting more like a dog in his natures of protections and care for her.. about how his loyatlies and affections to this small child amaze me.. well it seems shes gotten herself yet another fan.
our semi-new addition of fur bearing members of this family.. a tiny girl named Miranda. now Rogue and Miranda are very unique individuals to say the very least. their first meeting prior to their arranged marriage when all expected there to be fur flying and claws slashing.. was a loving sniff followed by a thorough bath and a cuddle by the elder Rogue of his new 7 week old companion. this kitten has showed her merit and own uniqueness by not only being a very sweet and talkatve creature.. but also in her wanton ferocious serialistic tortures of a dog more than 5 times her size.
well today.. Miranda decided she was going to go to school with my sprite.. ..;hears melody of mary had a little lamb;.. and attempted to go out the door on her heels when she exited. my sprite picked her up and placed her back into the house.. and my husband stepped between the kitty and the door.. and the sprite. bad move.. this tiny little creature went postal! think Churchill from Pet Semetary.. on crack. ears laid flat.. fangs laid bare with a feral snarl, and the most blood chilling growl you can possibly imagine from yer worst nightmare. my husband tried to sooth her.. but it only made her bristle more frighteningly.. until i was forced to step up and assert my position of Alpha. when i stepped between her and he.. pointed my finger sternly with an intimidating NO! her ears came back up.. and the snarl went away.. but she was still poised for attacked all crouched on the floor. i went over and petted her and talked to her a bit and then picked her up.. walked to the door and looked out the window at Mal.. when she saw him through the glass she started in again with the growling and went nuts in my hands so bad i had to set her down LOL i again went to Alpha position this time with a swift stomp of my foot and a louder NO!! and Mal tapped me on the shoulder and said he had to make ammends with the kitty before shed calm down again. so i let them be.. and he took his punishments. after a couple more growls and hisses she finally accepted Malliki`s appologies for having the nerve to stand between her and her little girl.. and they made nice. ..;laughs;.. chalk up another beastial admirer of my blonde little sprite!
do you have a story.. of an animal besides a dog.. that has ever showed such devotion to a human they loved? please share

Where on earth did you find your Malliki? He sounds like some God from another planet. He is really an actual, living, breathing, THINKING, sensitive human being?? Not a robot? Wow!
You tell a lovely story and I wish I had one similar to share with you as well but alas, I don't. That was a very strong reaction from the kitty to Malliki...she must be an extremely strong willed cat...mind you, my Banjo only has to give me "a look" and one word and I do what he wants.

I have been called many things in my life... but this would be the first time anyone has ever compared me to a deity lol. I assure you, I am very real, and not divine in that sense, although I do appreciate the compliment. Alas, I do have my character errors just like everyone else, but I do try. Thank you again for your kind words.

My two babies, a boy and a girl, always compete over which one gets to go into the bathroom with me. If my little girl Sissy (my avatar) gets there first she spends most of her time checking out in the hallway to see if Squirt is coming and if he is she'll go out and hiss at him, then come back in and go around in circles at my feet then check back in the hallway - it's really comical!
