Deleted discussion

They rarely if ever tell you why they deleted somthing. It could be that someone found it offensive or that it was just plain against the guidelines. Not sure .. Or they could just be on a deletion spree. Yes your earning will reflect the loss of the discussion and the star if it was a 7 when you started most likely it will stay a 7. Well congrats on getting your first discussion deleted. There will be more to follow. there always is.

Wow, if it is your first you are doing really well. I've had one deleted recently. No response as to why. I have never heard of anyone getting a response. I'm interested in seeing what others say here. It makes sense that your star would not go down because of a deleted discussion. The star is based solely on + and - given to your discussions. Even if someone was offend and gave you a - for the deleted discussion.... the neg would go away with the deletion of the discussion. Deletions happen. Don't worry about it.

Our star rating doesn't have anything to do with our earnings. It is just to show how much we are rated with a positive, and how much we are rated a negative. The number by your name I assume went down because the post and its responses were deleted. It is tough when we lose money because our discussion is deleted. I think there have been a few mylotters who got legitimate answers when they inquired why their post was deleted.

hello shannon76, i had 2 deleted discussion in the past and like you i did emailed mylot and asked them the specifics on why it is deleted coz i dont want to have the same mistake again and i dont like the feeling that i am violating a rule. anyway, they responded to my email after almost 2 weeks and was only told that i may have posted a discussion that violates the rules/guidelines in mylot and that i should read it again and learn from it. i dont think it is helpful as i already know the rules and guidelines here and id rather know the EXACT reason than wonder which one i violates, oh well they seem to give me a vague respond then but at least they responded LOL. also, i read from here that sometimes a discussion get deleted coz someone keep flagging them and that may cause the deletion who knows. regarding the earnings going down, the fact that your discussion gets deleted make your earnings go down and same goes if some of the discussion you commented gets deleted, that will cost your earnings as well. star rating is not affected by your earnings going down coz the rating is given by members here and not by the admin (that is how i understand it) so no matter how much fall your earnings is your star will not gonna be affected by it, except of course if you offended someone and that someone decided to give you a negative rating and worst even flag you. i wish mylot will inform us why the discussion is deleted so we dont have to do the same mistake again and we can learn from it as well, but i guess that will take sometime coz there are so many discussion deleted in a day and maybe they cannot manage that all, who knows. anyway, dont let this bother you it is just one of the process here and everybody have experienced such thing here in mylot. takecare and i wish you all the best.

I have never had a discussion deleted altho I have lost points from having responded to those that were deleted. our star ratings have nothing to do with discussions being deleted. the ratings so mylot says are done by our fellow mylotters either rating us positive or negative. some trolls are going around and deleteing hundreds and hundreds of times so they can get a fellow mylotter's stars to fallfrom tne and nione to five and six just out of spite.our ratings also have nothing to do with our earnings or so I am told.

Mylot does delete discussions that violate the guidelines. If you read the guidelines and there doesn't seem to be anything that explains it then there is another possibility. Mylot occasionally deletes disccusions that are repeats of old discussions. I look at a certain number of deletions a day as standard at this point. I figure I will lost at least 2 or 3 a day. You might too and not even notice when you are posting a lot. I just see it as par for the course. It can be frusterating but I know it happens and that I can't do anything about it so I just try to post a few extra than I wanted each day to make up for the inevitable deletions. :)

So far as on my knowing, mylot never give detailed information why our response get deleted. It just said that its against mylot guidelines. Usually it happened when a discussion deleted so all of response on there will be deleted. i have faced this matter many times and the only thing that i can do just move on and make other responses so far, from mylot TOS, star ranking not related with our darming go gere
