Today, May 12th, is the international M.E. awareness day. I have spendt it as usual. At home alone trying to live as normal a life as I possibly can. I have written a blog about ME today because I think this awareness day is really important. Alas it is in a language that few of you know. If you do like to learn something new about M.E. i recomend this exellent site: http://ahummingbirdsguide.com/ It would be really great if a few more people learnt something new about M.E. Do you take notice of all the different "days", or are there just too many of them? Is there a special awareness day you find extra important? Hope you all have a good M.E. awareness day!

Myalgic Encephalopathy, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Severity and symptoms vary largely, but it's a hugely debilitating disease and is not widely enough recognised because of it being dismissed for so many years by the medical profession. It's an officially recognised disorder now though.

Yes more knowledge is needed. It waries a lot how it is treated by the medical profession from country to country. ere it is not so good (Norway) many neurologist claim it is not a neurological disease - it is a psychological illness. But here the politicians take it very seriously, so there are good things ahead. Here some still think it is yuppi flu, and in every discussion about it in the debate sections of newspaper somone say that people with ME are the most lazy of the lazy people. Things like that need to be stopped. Hope you are doing as well as possible, and that you'll get better soon.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I suffer from M.E. also and fibromyalgia and I didn't even know that there was an international awareness day for it. The hummingbird site is one I haven't come across before either. Thank you so much for posting the link. It's always good to have as much information as possible.
