Not a real attack, but a surprise (playful) leap at your ankles or legs.
Are you or have you ever been "attacked" by your cat, and what did you do or say?

My cat of 1yr and 2months does this all the time. I will just play along w/ him and he'll run but come back for more that's when him and I start wrestling it's funny. I think that's there way of getting our attention. I will look at him and say "what are you doing crazy kitty? and he'll meow that's when I know he want to play.

It's not funny when you're down to your last pair of pantyhose and the damned cat has scratched yet another ladder in them! LOL.
I should have got changed when I got home from work, but hey, I was 16 years old. That was quite a few years ago. Now, I don't have cats at all, I have dogs and I always get changed when I get home before I go out the back door.

Miss Kitty is also known to some of my friends as Syble. Some are actually afraid of her. One time some friends brought over their cat to play with Miss Kitty. When they were ready to find their cats to go home the husband was on the floor looking for their cat. When out charges Miss Kitty for the guys neck. Fangs and claws exposed. The guy jumps back fast and hollers, "your cat is trying to kill me!"

This discussion made me smile. I had this cat once and named her Spaz. I couldn't stand with my back to any chair or sofa when she was around. She would wait until I was occupied and then would leap onto my back. She used to scare the you know what out of me! I miss that cat!

When I was a teenager we had a cat called Soxy. He would attack the ankles of anyone who went out the laundry door if he thought it was tea time. He was not a lovely cuddly cat, he was a cranky tom cat who was never let inside. I liked our dog a lot more than our cat. I just love dogs.

I used to have a cat that did that all the time, particularly when I was wearing my bathrobe. i think the flapping material got his prey drive going. My cat now is a laid back fellow. He never does that.

Yes! My silly cats do that and more. I keep a toy box here for my grandchilren. One cat, Bubba, takes the lid off the toy container to get all the trolls out. I gave him a couple in an attempt to keep him out. He still wants more. Not one but all he can get out before i try to stop him. If i chase him away he comes back a soon. The first time he caught a troll he was hooked. I tried to take it away but he run away taking the troll with him. He wouldn't even let the other cats come near him or his troll. I could also forget trying to get it back anytime soon. This is a daily thing for him. He's a real troller, or mouser.
