Do you know anything about Diojiu ?

Hi everyone. I usually wonder about Diojiu - one dialect of Chinese in Guangdong province.Many people around the world know a lot about Hong Kong,Mandarin,Cantonese but they often dont understand what is Diojiu when I ask them ! Is diojiu popular language in Guangdong province,especially in Chaozhou? Because many people in some Chinatowns around the world speak Diojiu (US,Australia,Thailand,etc.)Do they have any special things except their language ? Can some Chinese friends here explain for me ?
