So, I was finally diagnosed about 2 weeks ago, after more than 7 years of pain, tingling, numbness, falling dow, losing strength in my arm and hand, fatigue, etc. Now comes the problem with explaining how it feels. There is just not a lot of information on fibromyalgia, especially information for others to understand it better. For discussion sake, how do you describe the pain of FM to your friends and family? What have you found that works to help them understand? I have seen the clothespin explanation, but that just seems so minor compared to what we really deal with all day.

I found this link, and the best way to describe FM to family members is more of telling them how they felt when they had their bad flu. http://www.fmnetnews.com/basics-symptoms.php I hope the link will help you. :)
