Yes I do. I love myself very much. I earnestly believe that unless and until someone loves oneself he/ she cannot love others. We love our families, we love our friends and so on but have you wondered our families are important because they are our families. My family is my priority, it’s my love, it’s my love for my family. This sense of belonging, this sense on integrity would not have been there if we hadn’t loved ourselves. We all love ourselves. It’s very intrinsic and ppl who deny are denying his existence.
Loving myself makes me very strong and beautiful. It gives me a feeling of being loved and belonged. I have always loved myself but there had been a time when I thought we need not think like that, I was being selfish to love myself. But I was wrong. Loving oneself doesn’t make one selfish, it makes others realise the value of loving others.

Thanks for sharing your positive attitude and for agreeing with the crux of the discussion. Loving oneself and in the process tend to be selfish is OK. Undoubtedly, we are deeply connected with our family and we learn values of love and respect from our family members and near and dear ones around us. I can guess that you are a loving person and you are full of love and affection.

A sort of yes a and a sort of no.
I am not able to get a fix on this one, but there is some thing me that tells me that I am best as I am and there is something in me that wants a total turnover of my personality.
But to say, I would rather go with "I don't love myself".

Interesting question and I'm glad you bought it up.
Just yesterday, I was talking to my husband's friend and he asked me the same question. I said 'Yes, I do'....then he said...'If you love yourself, you will never let anyone undermine your worth...whoever the person is'. And then I got thinking. Because some people (people who mean a lot to me) do affect the love I have for myself. Atleast the few moments after I hear a negative comment, I stop loving myself if it's an important person in my life (parents, sibling, husband). What the friend was trying to say is that I shouldn't do that and I think he's right. It will take me a while to get there...but I know I will. I just hadn't thought of it the way he looked at it.
Now, as to the why I love myself....I have the qualities that I consider good in other people and when I don't I cultivate it. I like that quality of mine and I love the fact that I am setting a good example to my kids (I practice what I preach). Even when I think of a negative quality in another person, I first look inside myself to judge if I have the quality myself...and then change it if I do. I do not think it's fair to point a finger at another person when you are doing the same thing yourself.

SV, I am thoroughly impressed with your thoughts and line of thinking. It is really heartening to note that you set an example yourself, before preaching. Woh! it is great on your part, when you say that before pointing out finger to any other fellow, you see within yourself about that negative point. You have truly positive and brilliant attitude. Hats off to you.

Hi SViswan, I think that is a great positive quality that you have, never judging someone else without first looking within youself. Also practice what you preach, your kids will grow up respecting you for that.

Unless we love ourselves,I feel, we cannot cultivate a positive attitude to anything in life.We need that sort of pep to help us carry on with our duties in life.I also feel that if there is no element this love, it will have an adverse effect on our self confidence and this will once again affect our performance.
I certainly love myself and am grateful to God for the countless blessings I enjoy in this life.

I overlooked the important part in your question about the qualities that I love myself for-in a broad picture I love my God given memory, good writing,my nose, ear for music and capacity for decent singing,,, ability to have fun ,resourcefulness, contentment that allows me to be in peace within myself and allows peace within the family .THere are of course certain things which i do not like but am unable to get over-like being a bit emotional and hesitantly unclear in drawing lines in relationships.

Kalav! Nice to know that you are full of warmth, love and affection and you know how to love yourself and your near and dear ones. You are very much right, till we love ourselve, we cannot have positive attitude in our life.
Indeed, we must be thankful to great God for countless blessings He has showered upon us and He continues to do so.
Many thanks for sharing your thoughts on the topic.

No I don't love myself much. I find myself unlucky in many ways. I am thankful to God for what I am today or else it could be even worse than this. So I am just fine with myself, but answer to your question is that though I don't hate myself, I don't even love myself........Have a nice day.

Dear, there is no question of 'not' loving yourself. It is simply not possible. Whether you admit it or not, I do believe that you 'love' yourself and of course all your friends (me included) love you for your lovable and caring attitude.

Please please do not assess yourself like this. When you do not hate yourself, it clearly indicates that you 'love' yourself. Please do not consider yourself unlucky. Each one of us (including me) has equal share of good luck and bad luck in our life. It is part of the game. You are such a wonderful person, who is full of warmth and affection. You always show remarkable caring attitude towards all of your friends, so it is not possible to believe that the person who is so caring about others, would not 'love' herself. I firmly believe that You love others, because first you love yourself.

Hello deepak! I do love myself. I don't know any person who doesn't love theirselves. There is a saying that, you can't love someone if you don't love yourself, or before loving someone, you should love yourself first.
I guess one of the reason why I know I love myself because I want to become successful in everything I do and I would try my best to achieve it. Which in God's grace I already achieved what I want. One thing I am praying for now is to be with my husband and to help my family.

You have to love yourself before anyone can love you. With that said, yes, I do love myself. I love my personality, my big heart, and pretty much everything else about me. I always try to treat everyone as I would want to be treated and try to be as kind as I can to everyone.

Hi deepak! Yes, I do love myself. I love so generously and forgive easily that is why I can love myself with all the imperfections I have and could forgive myself easily for the faults I have made. I love myself but I know in loving myself I can give love more to my fellowmen.
Take Care and Keep Smiling! Happy Mylotting!

Every body wants to love him self, but you have to some reason for every thing othere wise you cant do it as you want. For love you have to love some some , it doesn't matter what she/he feels about you, but dont think any thing bad for her/him. If you really love him/her, it mean you are always behind him for support each every steps of life.

Yes, I do. But there are times when I don't. When I get this strange feeling, I will shake it off. Once when I was about 6 or 7 years old, I wrote on a picture that I loved myself. I thought this to be very special. That sad thing is, I have lost the picture....

I dont love myself very much, but i am learning how to love my self by accepting my imperfection. no body is perfect so i guess i should accept that fact. I was so focus on myself that i feel i am lonely and sad at the same time but when i become a member of singles for christ, everything is change, my outlook in life and my perception becomes positive and i rely more on God than myself.

I feel I hate myself, actually everyone loves himself or herself most and that is where allthe problems arise. If you love yourself then comes ego, someone if does something against you then you hate that person. I feel we hate others because we love ourselves too much.

It appears to me that your answer has some paradox in it. Ego is not loving yourself. If you cannot love yourself then you cannot love others, to fall in love with others, you should be able to fall in love with yourself. Thanks for sharing your views.

hey dude first thing to say is that if you cant love yourself you cant stay with your self
you will always abuse urself for doing mistakes
the first thing you need to have is that you should love yourself because you are the only one who can give the happiness or sadness to yourself
so when always try to be happy and so love yourself at first case and then try to find love who is very much happy with himself and try to take things like ego or any such things as mistakes

Absolutely 100% love myself but I couldn't have answered that a few years ago. It took a lot of years for me to totally accept me for me and love that person. I now look in the mirror and see God's created beauty but I also see a beautiful human being with a lovely caring nature who is a loyal and trusted friend, who has also been blessed with loyal and trusted friends herself. I have my health also. I'm always here for me now, not in a selfish way but I used to run around like a headless chicken trying to please others whilst not pleasing myself. Ellie :D

AT this time in my life my self esteem is a bit lower then I like. But I do know that I am a good person. My positive traits, hmmmmmm, well I think the biggest thing is that I see myself as pretty caring person who has a passion for nurturing kids and giving them the best in life. Another trait that I like about myself is that I am a fighter, I will never give up in something I believe in. My friends would see me as very loyal, funny and caring too.
Now I feel like i have tickets on myself, lol. So tell me about your positive qualities my friend.

Yes, no doubt about it that you are a nice, caring and wonderful person and you do have some positive traits, which makes you dear and lovable amongst your friends and near and dear ones.
It is difficult for me to list my own positive traits.......LOL! Briefly, I am very caring and sensitive and I try to be humble and positive in my approach..........
Rest of the traits you can judge yourself.......after reading my posts...........LOL! (otherwise you would say....I am indulging in self-praise)

In my eyes everyone should love him/herself at least a little. Because everyone has something special and everyone is individual. So I'd say I'm quite satisfied with myself as well. I like my looks and my behaviour to people, I'm helpful and social. Of course there are still things that I don't like.

hello dpk262006,
im asking myself now if she knows i love her LOL
YES i do love myself, i always believe that there is no one who will love me till i learn how to love myself self.
it works and i am really happy knowing that i grew up knowing that i can always count on myself before i can count on others.
it gives me so much pride and self confidence knowing that no matter what happen i will not gonna judge myself and blame myself for something bad/wrong along the way.
i feel if we know how to love ourself first then everything will just follow.
if others cant accept you for who you are at least you have yourself and the fact that you love yourself will make all the difference in the world.
that's how i feel about myself and i sure love myself with a question and or doubt.
takecare!

It depends about the opinion of each other about this topic. You can love any body that you want or you like, then you realise, you are going to change thats is the love for yourself, as a reaction of your love which you start for him/her.
