Since I have been posting here in Mylot I have spoken to many beautiful people from China, many of them students wanting to improve their English, over the last couple of days I have been thinking about some of the conversations I have had and I can't help worrying about them at the moment, I really do hope you are all ok, maybe if you could come in here and tell us that you are ok and maybe even tell us about your experience...thinking of you my little friends...

When I heard this on the news yesterday morning, it did not sound like anything too bad, they did not have much information on it and so I was really surprised when I heard the news at lunch time and saw how bad it actually was once the damage had been assessed. That is 2 really bad things that have happened in the past 2 weeks and it is really awful to see, and I too hope that everyone from China is ok, as there are some lovely people that come here.

Dear lilaclady,is the experience you said about the 5.12 earthquake?
In fact, though thousands of people suffered in the earthquake,it's just main in SiChuan China. Other provinces suffered less.
BUT all Chinese have held together to confront the disaster now.

It's very kind of you. I am from Guangzhou and I am fine. The earthquake didn't affect here as it's far from Sichuan Province. However, I am very sad to see the earthquake news from TV. Many people lost their family and home. We will donate money and clothes for them. We will try to do something for them. I hope the people will go through this pain soon.
I love China

Hello, Lilaclady. I am so glad to read your post, but we have never met before. I am a Chinese university student as well, and I do met a lot of friendly international friends over here.
I wonder, what in particular you people talked about? What kind of experience?

Communications will be affected in a lot of areas too. The Chinese have amazing resources for search and rescue though and have implimented immediately unlike the poor people of Burma not being allowed to receive a lot of what is available to them. We are thinking of them all. Ellie :D

Hi Lilaclady, Thank you for the BR on this. I am still praying for people all over the world that have been affected by this and other natural disasters recently. At this moment in time the Chinese people who share with us on myLot probably have so much else on their mind we may not hear for a while. Lets hope we now start hearing of successful rescues and that many of the children still trapped are bought out alive. Ellie :D

I have been going through my friends list but I can't find the ones I really connected with a few weeks ago, they may have changed their avatar which makes it hard to find them..

I hope they will rest in peace. If only everyone is so nice and kind as here people at mylot, the world will much more peaceful and beautiful.
I really appreciate your caring for us.Thank you.

I wish you all the best myself. It certainly seems so distant all the fighting, controversy etc. We talk to each other almost everyday without one bad feeling. Its a shame the whole world didnt use myLot. I have met people from all over and not once did we have a major falling out regarding my opinion or their opinion. Why cant our governments work this way? To all my friends here at myLot I hope and pray for the safety of you and your families. No matter where you live, if you're on myLot, you are a friend.dl

This is very tragic. One way to help would be to make donations to Red Cross or World Vision who are doing their best to help survivors.
