Sleepy all of the time?

My husband seems to be sleepy all of the time. He usually has about 7-8 hours sleep at night. However, whenever he sits down and does nothing he falls asleep. He can sometimes fall asleep at 7pm and not wake up until 7am. He used to fall asleep a lot at work and gets very tired when he is driving.
Does anyone else suffer from this? Is there a cure? Is it something that he should see the doctor about?

There is a disorder that at times causes this it could also be he has sleep apnea I would have him talk to your doctor about it. It can be dangerous if he gets to the point where he falls asleep while driving. I had a boss that would do that and it got to the point where I couldn't let him drive anywhere I would have to drive him. His was a disorder but I can not remember the name of it. Sleep apnea though is not that uncommon and it would mean his sleeping time is not a deep sleep. They have sleep studies they can do and if it is that they will put him on a machine that will help him at night.

Sounds interesting. He does get tired when driving but will stop and have a snooze or a walk around if he feels that he is in danger.
I am not sure about teh sleep apnea. I have heard of it before. I know that he sleeps extremely deeply as it is almost impossible to wake him up once he is asleep, I can have conversations with him in his sleep and he has even been known to get up and fetch something from downstairs and have no knowledge that he has done it. he does not sleep walk in the sense that he does not do this regularly only when I wake him and ask him to do something and he goes straight back to sleep afterwards.

Your husband should be seen by a doctor, especially if this is something that has developed fairly recently. There are many reasons for your husband's fatigue so figuring out exactly what's going on with him and treating it will help to make him feel better.

I spoke to his brother about it and he says he has always been like it. His mother said that he slept well at night as a child but not in the daytime. I wonder whether it is because he is less active. He has started doing more exercise this week, so itw ill be interesting to see whether this helps him.

Do you know anyone that has tried this? I wonder whether sleeping for a very long time will just make him get more used to sleeping.
