My daughter likes the instant Quaker Cinnamon Roll and Apple flavored. But there are days that she just won't eat it. I know it is healthy for her, what do you do to have them eat the oatmeal? Do you put something special in the cereal?

My kids will eat oatmeal but we usually put sugar in it. I know the oatmeal is good for them but the sugar is not so I try not to put alot of sugar in it. They like bananas in their oatmeal and taost to go with it.

I think it's boring and probably not even that healthy to eat the same thing day after day. Why not give her a healthy alternative? Apple and cheese? Whole wheat toast and peanut butter? If you think she really needs oats every day, give her oat bread, or oatmeal cookies or granola with oats in it. She might prefer raw oats instead of cooked sometimes. Slice a banana or an apple into it, sweeten it and put a little milk on it.

My daughter was always a very picky eater. she mainly only wanted to eat chicken nuggets or chicken strips. She would eat some cereal though but she would never even try to eat oatmenl. I don't blame her though because I do not like it either. I tried to add some fruit in mine and still did not liek the taste of it.

Sprinkles. That has been a failsafe method of getting the kids to eat oatmeal. Works for applesauce, too.
We have dinosaur sprinkles, chocolate sprinkle, star sprinkles, Valentine (heart) sprinkles, Halloween sprinkles, Christmas sprinkles, and just about every color of sprinkles that they make.

I get regular, I gotta cook it, oatmeal. I put about 3 tablespoons of maple syrup in the water while it is coming to a boil. That is for the 2 serving size. Sometimes I add raisins when I add the oatmeal, sometimes not. I use brown instead of white sugar and a little butter. I lived at my daughter's house for a while and after I moved out the grandbabies said, "Grandma, we miss your oatmeal and your pannycakes!" I think that meant they missed me, too. lol

My son, grown now, always ate maple and brown sugar oatmeal, I added a tiny bit more of the brown sugar and he loved it.. I didn't add enough to cancel out the good benefits of the oatmeal, just enough to make sure that he would love it and eat it without having a fit about it.. It worked, he still loves the same oatmeal and with a touch of extra brown sugar..

My kids don't eat instant oatmeal. My son does not like it and I just never fed it to my daughter. I go through phases with eating instant oatmeal. I have not eaten it in close to 2 years, so there is not any in the house. I was looking at it the other day, but I did not pick it up. I would just try giving her something else for awhile. She may start eating it again.

My son loves oatmeal. I get the Raisin, Date, and Walnut flavor. It has enough "treats" in it that my son will eat it up with no complaint! He doesn't eat it every day, though. Does your daughter? If she does, try switching it with another flavor or some cold cereal. I get the Multigrain Fruit and Nut cereal, and my son loves it better than any of the "kids" cereals. I get Ingles brand, but Post also makes it. Hope it helps!

Kids get tired of the same old thing day after day. Offer them something entirely different when they refuse to eat oatmeal...eggs and grits (hey, I'm in the south), peanut butter and jelly sandwhich, pancakes with fruit. Kids like variety, too.
