How to deal with your teen agers who spend too much time with friends?

Teen age years is a tough time for parents to tackle. It needs real patience and understanding to deal with their kids at this age. How would you manage to tell your kids to spend less time with peers? most of them retaliate when you scold them for spending too much time with their friends.
How are you guys do this? any idea?

i myself am a teennager n wat i fell is tht u parents should think frm our perspective also!!
as long as ur son/daughter are roamin around wid good friens frm a good cultured n a civilised family wat is the need for u to worry??
this is such an age tht youngsters dont like tobe scolded by their parents n if even by mistake u try to impose nethin upon them u wud be the loser coz he/she wud do exactly the ooposit thing!!
if at all u ddont wanna leet this happen wat u can do is tell it to them in a very peaceful n logical manner GIVIN PROPER JUSTFIED REASONS as to y u don likke it!!
or they wont listen to u!
