Got the call from my Youngest Son and some of you have already heard about this, but they are doing the stop loss on him. He was suppose to get out after 6 yrs in the Army in 2 months but now they are sending him to Kososvo..it was a maybe but my Son called me today and said defintely he will be training in Oct. and leaving for a year in Feb. If i was in the shape i was when i first heard this then i wouldn't be able to write this..I was crying way to much..after i talked to many they told me things to ease my mind. My youngest Son hates being in there from listening to all their lies and such. He's only 23 and had left for boot camp 1 day after High school grad.Someday he will be able to be a young man free from them. Thanks all for listening to me!

I am very sorry. I know this must be very difficult for you. I am sure 6 years have been enough, and now another one, I don't think it is right. Again I am very sorry.

I hope that your son continues to be safe. That Stop Loss stuff is so sad. So many young boys give up their lives to serve expecting to be out on a certain date or amount of time and then it gets pulled from them and they have no say so at all!!

Thanks Lala I know its very hard being a mother and hearing about this stop loss thing, but they will never be happy since most young people aren't signing up anymore to join the army like they used to..and until my Son gets out the gov. owns him..so sad

I am so very sorry about this situation for you and for your family, I will keep all of you in my prayers.. It doesn't seem right, since he did do what he signed up to do, but it appears to me that the government thinks they own him and this is not right.. He has done his duty so he should get to come home when they said that he could.. Stay strong and keep praying for him and for all of our troops, because it appears that the government is going to use all of us as their puppets in one way or another.. God Bless you and yours..

I am so sorry to hear of this, I know it is hard to take that your son is going away again. I have a friend here in canada who has two sons, one in the army and one in the rcmp and both were stationed over there and they did not like it either.

Rosekitty, I feel for you, my son is in the Navy and I know how you miss him. Would you please thank him for all of us at MyLot, we realize what a big sacrifice he is making. It suck what they are doing to, so close to his 6 years being up and then having the rug pullout from under him. If you could put his address out to your friends here on mylot or at least PM, I would be willing to send him a care package, it is these things from home that would make his life tolerable and if many people sent him things he could see how we appreciate what he is doing for us. Feel free to cry, I am hear crying for you, I know how you feel!

Just pray that he'll be away from harm. Just like you said he will be a free man someday. In the meantime let's just pray that he'll be ok while serving his country. My wife have a niece also who is in the US Army and she is deployed in Iraq. She just give birth to a baby boy last November and she is now preparing to go back to Iraq. She is studying hard so she could get out of the Army with some future. I do hope and pray also that she'll be able to finish her service to his country in good condition for her son. Life is really not fair but you have to endure this hardship to be a better person. Without hardship you won't get better. I do hope your son will be a better person when he go out of the Army.

I understand the crying part to well. When I got the news that my son was being deployed to Iraq. I cried for 2 weeks straight. His deploy date has been moved up from 01/09 to 09/08. He is currently at Schofield in HW. Please, try to stay upbeat and think only good things. I know how hard all this is. God Bless you and your family. D

i am not a mom but i do feel for you. no son likes to be away from the comfort that a mom could give. a year is short, i know it is bearable. just keep in touch with him and he will communicate for sure. one day, all will be well for you and your son. i know he will grow up a young fine lad. smile always. your son will not like seeing you frown and cry all the time.
