I found it very difficult to lose weight after having my twins. Until they were 6 months old, I did not feel that I had he energy to cut down what I was eating as I was still getting up several times a night with them. Eventually, I went on a calorie controlled diet and reduced my intake to 1000 calories a day and increased my exercise from one walk a day to one walk and at least 300 calories burned on an exercise machine. I managed to lose a lot of weight but unfortunately once the children started eating proper food, I put it back on again by eating their left overs. I am now working at reducing my weight - I am doing the calorie counting again but this time trying to change my diet so I am not just eating less, but eating healthier things - more fruit, veg and nuts and less ready meals, crisps and biscuits. I am hoping that by doing it this way and weaning myself off junk, I will be abl eto more easily maintain the weight loss.

i was diagnosed gestational diabetic when i had my baby i was able to maintain my weight whilst pregnant and till around the baby was 6months old because i was brestfeeding then... but i quickly gained weight after then because i felt so deprived when i was pregnant, i tend to eat everything i used to fancy, went back to my usual fish and chips on fridays and a few trips to thorntons after i'm was almost double in size ... i was size 10-12 when i was pregnant but now i'm size 16. This week i started cutting down on my intake and went back to my old exercise regime and some stretching. hope i'll fit in to atleast size 12 soon.

My kids are grown now but I remember nursing did help with weight loss. Your body burns more energy producing milk so if you are nursing it should help. Eating a balanced diet of course is important. As is drinking enough water. Try to eat more whole grain foods. Your body will burn more calories digesting whole grains as well as add to your over all health. Try topping cereal with a spoon full or two of flax seed or "health nut mix" of whole grains. Such can easily be added to things like tuna salad or other foods.
You want to be sure you are not cutting too many calories. Your metabolism will slow down rather then speed up if you take in too few calories. It is our natural defense against starvation.
As for exercise Cardio is great for over all fitness and heart health and sets up an extended calorie burn for several minutes after your workout but if you want to burn fat you need a slower pace. Especially as you become aclamated to an exercise your body does almost too good a job at homeostasis ( your body's ability to maintain balanced use of energy, oxygen etc.) Slower pacing causes a slight unbalance in this process which triggers fat burning.
Good luck

just keep yourself disciplined and watch your calorie intake and im sure you will do fine.its hard to trim down after giving birth but if you really wanted to slim down im sure you can....my wife never eat anything after 6pm because most people who eat a lot at night makes it hard to trim down.....

Skinny? What's that? LOL. After my last one was such a big child, I don't think my hips will ever be the same again. I have no idea how he fit through my pelvis area, lol.
Yes, try to fit in exercise, eat healthy, things like that. It's not easy. I know I'll never look the same again. But most of the weight can be lost, if you put your mind to it.
