Salt! Put it everywhere and then sweep it up the next day. For your poor pet, Avon's Skin So Soft kills off the fleas also. I buy the drops and put them down the back to the tail after a good flea bath. The reason the salt works is because it burns the fleas as soon as it hits them. Also you can take a light bulb and put it over a bowl with dish soap in it and they are attracted to the light and the heat, when they jump, they land in the soap and die.
