Love and infatuation are both independent of age factor. Just be honest, don't full-fledge adults have infatuation? Its not a matter of age, its a matter of the feeling that is born in your heart, its true, at the very first its rather tough task to discern between genuine love and infatuation: Infatuation is like that spark that is initially very bright, packed with lively colors, bur gradually it fades, its a temporary feelings, but genuine love go through every test of times and emerges victorious, I believe that time, the natural factor is the very tool that can discern between genuine love and infatuation..

It can be either, I personally don't believe you have to be a certain age before you can experience love. I have pleanty of friends who are aged 18 - 21 who have been with their partner for years and years and they have no doubt in their minds that they're in love.
At the other end of the spectrum you have the students who flit from partner to partner in a short timescale, it goes without saying that these students are just experiencing infatuation, not love.
