do you experience this sometimes? i do. my brain just suddenly freezes over, and nothing coherent would come to my mind. what i usually do is stand up from wherever i am sitting, walk around, listen to soothing music, and hope that the inspiration to write comes very soon.

Whenever I experience writers block...I put what I am working on away and write a personal letter. Often writing without worrying about what I am writing allows my brain to have room for those lightbulb moments.

I take a break from it by writing in my journal or else I take a relaxing shower or bath. That seems to get my brain stimulalted again.

I don't get writer's block here. The Dreaded WB sometimes gets to me when I'm writing my novel as that's what I'm doing. I don't get it when I write poerty or my personal Journal. I love writing and being creative but I think I get it when I'm sick of expressing myself. I find it best to turn the computer off and walk away from it. Go for a run. Watch a movie, play a video game. Read a book. After a few days I can write again. If I'm stuck for an idea or a plot twist, instead of knowing what I want but can't seem to get the damn thing out, I spend a few days relaxing and slowly thinking about the plot problem and it comes to me, normally in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping, so I get up and write what I can. I have written all night and all day to get a story out before "I lost it."

I am much more fluent in writing than I am in speaking. I seldom suffer from writer's block.

good for you. i'd rather write a thousand words than speak before a crowd. but there are times, when my mind just draws a blank. thanks for your comment.

If I have writer's block, I force myself to write something, anything, in free form. After a bit of nonsense, I usually get back on track.
