I can appreciate your desire to travel, have a comfortable home and the knowledge that you can wake up the next morning and know all the bills will be paid. However, your desire to be a truck driver is a scary thought with the condition of our Universal economy and how the fuel prices are causing financial devastation to countless individuals and trucking companies. There are trucking companies going out of business every day as we speak because of the increasing fuel prices... there was recently a truck-driver's rally at the White House in Washington D.C. where a convoy of more than 350 commercial trucks rallied around to protest the increasing fuel prices and lack of government support or intervention. Getting into trucking at this time, I believe, would be an unwise choice, given the current condition of the industry and its gloomy future predictions. I know there is a fuel crisis. But there is always going to be a need for truck drivers. And you can make 30,000 a year or more. In my present job I might make 15,000-and thats working two jobs.
