I was wondering if anyone out there has ever read "The Burning" by Tim Madigan. It is about the massacre that occured during the riot in 1921 in Tulsa. I am reading it for my U.S. History class and have to say that it seems to be a rather gruesome tale. I don't really know any other way to put it other than that. At one point, it actually has a depiction of a toddler being shot in the head while the house is being set on fire. They just then through the lifeless body onto the street. That is one of the more mild things described in this supposedly historical book. It is distrubing to say the least. I have to say that I am glad that I didn't live through all the race riots back then. Of course, I should be reading the book and writing the paper that is due tomarrow morning istead of doing this...
