What can you say about what happen to our electric supplier. Now they are throwing all the blame to each other. And we found out what meralco done to our electric bill. They are cheater... They cheating us we pay very high for our electric bill and now they are telling us how they cheat us. We are paying for their loss my God why they do all this things to us. Many people are suffering. I was hoping that this will be solve and they will pay for what they did we need justice for all of this. Paying what they stole from us is not enough they have to pay it more in the law if we still have fair law. Remember if we did something against the law we pay for now they have to pay too. The have to solve it very soon....

I agree with you. They have to pay for what they did to the consumers. It is really frustrating that they have to cheat and let the consumers suffer for their loses. They should be punished for what they did. Usually, I pay 2,500 pesos per month, but last month I was so shocked to see my Meralco bill, it rose to 4,500 pesos, and we don't even use electric fan for how many months now, coz of the cold weather here. Now the senate and the house of representatives have been conducting investigations about this. Lets just wait and see what will be the outcome of this so-called investigations. I think Meralco should return what they stole from us.

Yes I also agree with you they have return all what they stole from us. I do everything just to save in electricity and still my bill are getting higher and higher. I hop that the senate and house of representative will not stop until the truth came out. And it obvious that they cheat us. But still we have to wait in a very long process before we commit justice from what they do to us. We need a very fast action regarding this matter. This must be prioritise. All of us were really suffering in paying so high.

Meralco is a private company... do not forget that it too has a lot of things to maintain.. the same as other private companies. i think the government particularly Arroyo... has planted this news to divert the attention of people.
Arroyo obviously is playing games with private companies who are opposing her... she does that.. its a dirty tactic. i call this "nanggigipit" i hope before she points fingers.. look at her cabinet members first... have they actually tried something to bring the oil prices and the basic commodities down?

It is business, they want to save their's so they have to think of something to keep up with all their liabilities.
This has been an issue for a long time, yet nothing's been done to prosecute them. I believe that they do know how to manipulate and bribe influential people to cover-up for their anomalies, they are fooling and robbing us ever since..

I think that these are mere tactics that the government is ploying to distract publics attention to this matter rather than facing the issues hounding them. Plus the fact that they know that the son of the the president of the company is married to the former president Estrada's daughter. Although as I am seeing it Meralco gets their power from the government and the price that Napocor is charging them is high already Meralco still has to make a little profit out of it to be able to survive financially and to maintain the service properly. Everything is going up especially the oil, how do you think the company could survive with all that circumstances surrounding them. They have paid many consumers when the government ordered them to pay overcharged bills of the previous years. The only company that have paid back their consumers. Government takeover will just make things worsen as seen in Napocor who is grossly mismanaged and is also losing government corporation. I do not say that we should not investigate Meralco but please no to Government takeover as this is not the solution that will solve our problems.

If Meralco is a culprit as to why our electric bill is so high, it's not the only one. Let's not forget Napocor. It is run by a corrupt syndicate. It is grossly mismanaged, run to the ground, accumulating debt and then passing on that debt to the Filipino people. Has Mrs. Arroyo done anything to clean up Napocor? NO

Yes that's true they conive to pass true their dept to us consumers. And the goverment did not do anything about it. But do the government know about it. Or they just keep it by themselve not knowing that it will come out. This all came out because they have misunderstanding now as we say bestfriend, worst enemy.

This is prevalent in lots of electric companies in the Philippines.
In Iloilo City, we have one of the highest electric rates. They even charge us with what the call "system losses", which should be properly called "power lost to jumpers and other illegal connections".
We should have more electric companies to give consumers the preference on where to get the cheapest power...
This way the power companies would have to upgrade their equipment, improve their service and be vigilant in apprehending persons who steal electricity.
In the long run, the consumers will be the one who will benefit from all of this.....

i dont know if these guys can still sleep well with all those anomalies they've been doing and letting all of us filipinos suffer from it. one thing that really makes my blood pump up is whenever they increase charges coz they claim that they are losing. huh! not to mention, the top 8 executives of this company are receiving a total salary of 97Mphp (thats $2.1M) annualy! too bad for us coz our government doesn't seem to be bothered that much. im sure arguments in the senate will go on for weeks, as it used to be, ending up with no solution agreed upon. lets just hope and pray that necessary actions will be filed against this institution.

I was able to watch news about this issue. And I think the investigating panel have doubts about why the government charges tax on meralco's collections of electric loses which they charged to their customers. While people are also wondering why they have to be charged of that.
Like everyone else, I hope this issue will be resolved soon, so that electric consumers could get back what is due to them or what is being overpaid.

Well, Its all on the government and to some extent to us. We let it happened, we complained and yet we are not united to do something about it. Maybe we're just cowards. They are paid by our taxes to do good by us. With a government so corrupt and rotten like ours, I mean what would we expect? They could always check on meralco, why this is just one monopolize electric company in central luzon and they waited for like what forever to find out they're cheating? A country as poor as ours can afford not to check on excessive charges by a private, monopolized company? This farce would just go like any other news in our country, here today gone tomorrow when the hungry pockets of other politicians are attended to by the lopezes that is.
