no,and i probably never will.anybody i knew who had gotten one (including my mom) became sick almost immediately after.granted it doesn't happen to everyone, but i'd rather not get sick on purpose.

Although the last flu shot was not very effective as only one of the three strains going around last season was covered by it (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/597553/flu_shot_only_covers_one_of_this_years.html), I would recommend getting one, especially if your immune system is already weak due to age (children and seniors) or other diseases. They are reevaluating their approach in determining which strains to cover and next season's shot should be more effective.
The vaccine doesn't contain a life virus, but it will train your immune system in building the appropriate antibodies to fight the life virus, if it enters your body throughout flu season. As with any other vaccination there are risks associated with getting a flu shot and you might experience flu-like symptoms after getting the shot. You should discuss it with your doctor first, especially, if this is your first shot ever. In that case you will also need a booster shot six weeks after the first one for the immunization to be effective.
With a global flue pandemic predicted to arise eventually, I say, better safe than sorry.
