Do Rainy Days Make You Sleepy?

For the past week it has been rainy, chilly, and overcast. It makes me want to just climb into bed for the most part! On Mother's Day we were actually tempted to make a fire in the fireplace to cozy up next to because it was so damp and dreary! I kind of like rainy days as long as i don't have to go anywhere or have plans to be outside like for a picnic or something of that nature. I do notice I'm less productive and motivated to get things done though! What about you? Do rainy days make you sleepy? Do you like rainy days? What are your favorite things to do on rainy days?

Yes, rainy days do make me sleepy. When it is raining outside I just want to curl back up in bed and pull my covers up over me tight. I don't like rainy days as the kids get bored staying inside and then they start getting on my nerves with the I'm bored.

I agree on this situation. Yeah, rainy days do make me worn out. I get tired and sleepy real easily. There is always boredness. Somehow I will get something warm to drink. So I am always tired a lot.

I would say that the pitter patter of the raindrops on the window panes tend to keep me awake. Also when camping I lie awake in the tent listening to the rain beating its rythm on the canvas whilst being in a sleeping bag nice and warm. have a great day from Deeeky.

Most rainy days do not make me sleepy. I like to sit on the porch cuddled on a blanket with my sweetheart and listening to the rain and talking.

I like rainy days because they encourage me to stay indoors and get some work done. Nice weather makes me want to be outdoors and hot weather makes me feel tired and irritable and makes it more difficult for me to think clearly and so i get less work done. I like watching the falling rain and I don't really mind being outside, if the rain is not too heavy.

i really don't like rainy days. i just love one advantage of this: there would be no classes if it rains hard lol everytime it rains i feel bored and sleepy. i don't have anything to do inside the house aside from sleeping or watching movies.

Rain is one of those things that if you plan something indoors and it rains, you don't care, but if you want to go out it hinders things. It goes to show that we don't have control over everything but sometimes we'd like to. I'm not a fan of rain, funny because right now I live in the desert! I usually look for a break in the clouds so I can at least go outside if it stops raining, if it doesn't I'll just get somethings done that I'd been putting off while the sun was shining.

so very right about that not caring if you stay inside but if you have a picnic planned it does get in the way!

Not only sleepy but also rainy days make me feeling lonely. I just open my window and stare outside idly. At that time I continue to get into a very sad mood.

for me it is the opposite but i can see how if it's dreary it can get you down...but just think of how much more you'll appreciate the sunny days!

I don't like rainy days because they make me feel so gloomy. Plus, you can't go outside and play and with a toddler those days drag on! She loves to go the park and is really upset on the days we have to cancel because of the rain. I would much prefer a bright, sunny day over the rainy ones.

they can be dreary - have you thought about playing in the rain on a warm day? My kids love catching things in buckets and cups and splashing in puddles, though I'll only let them do it when it's warm!

Hi. Not only do rainy days make me sleepy, if I am at home with nothing pressing to do, I'm taking a glorious nap. Growing up in a family that believed that if it was lightening and thundering, (which sometimes involves raining), you weren't allowed to do anything. I mean no reading, washing dishes, tv.(was definitely out), listening to music, etc. So my brother, sister, and I would talk quietly until we yawned ourself to sleep. We are still like this today and so are our adult children. I all boils down to my mother strictly believing, that you don't do anything "while God is doing his work." I get so lazy, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, when it's raining out. I like rainy days sometimes. I use them when I can to rest up and regroup. My favorite things to do on rainy days, (as long as it's not lightening or thundering, (smile) is to crawl up in the bed with my boyfriend or a good murder mystery and a bowl of Black Walnut ice cream: whichever on is more convenient.(smile).

My favorite thing to do when rainy season is to sleep sleep sleep! Yup, it makes me so sleepy that it is hard to wake up to go to school or work. Mostly, I just like staying at home and watch movies then eat hot soup when rainy season. Cheers!

Yes, definitely rainy days make me sleepy but I drink coffee or treat myself with a hot chocolate. Anything hot is welcome. I prefer to stay at home. Rainy days make me feel lazy but I usually have a goal to finish in a day. So coffee is really my buddy for the whole day. It helps a lot. =)

Rainy days make me sleepy, too. I don't care much for them because I just can't get motivated to get anything done, because I want to sleep. I have also noticed that my kids nap longer on rainy days, which gives me a little extra time to relax, too. When it does rain I make that a day to let my bos decide what we should do. Sometimes we play games, Or watch movies all day.

I only like rainy days when I don't have plans, like you if I have to be running errands or have plans to do something to do outside, the rain can get annoying. But if I don't have plans and want to have a nice lazy day lounging around inside the house I love a good rainy day with a thunderstorm. I like to read, so if the weather is nasty outside, what better excuse do I have for not being very productive outside..lol But then again, I do have days where it is rainy and yucky outside and I decide that it is a great day for doing some major house cleaning...but I like the first choice, curling up with a good book is the best..lol Have a great day!

I am like you in that I like rainy days as long as I don't have to go anywhere. I usually work on my scrapbooking when it is rainy out, although some days it just makes me want to curl up on the couch and watch a good movie or read a book, and nap. If it's a summer rain, I like to sit out on our covered porch and read with a cup of coffee, and my dog laying by me. Although it's not raining that's where we are now, sitting out, she's laying next to my chair, cup of coffee and the laptop. It's a bit overcast, but nice temp.

I just LOVE rainy days. Yes, I can sleep so good when it's raining - I have my best sleep during an overnight rain. And, it's so easy to sleep later on a rainy day. But, at the same time, if it's rainy and cool, I have more energy to get things done when I do finally get up. And, my mood is better as well. I don't even mind going out in the rain (except to drive in this population-ridden area where I live) unless there is thunder and lightning - then I'm not about to go out.

I have a heck of a time driving at night in the rain because all the lights reflect off the shiny streets and I can't see the lines on the road, so I can't stay in my lane. I will drive if I absolutely have to at night, but would prefer not. It's not so bad on a back road where there isn't as much traffic or as many lights from passing cars and street lamps. During the day, I'm OK, unless it's a Niagara-ish downpour. Then, I'll try to stop and stay put until it slows down.
